Default Techniques

Is there a place on this site that explains in detail some of the styling techniques such as raking, sotc...as opposed to searching thousands of threads and posts?
Thanks

I haven't seen a whole thread on just techniques, but I'll try to briefly explain the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

To my understanding raking is using your fingers to comb through your hair to evenly distribute product

SOTC stands for scrunch out the crunch. If you have a product that leaves your hair crunch, you can scrunch your hair the way many do for curl definition, to eliminate the crunchy look and feel. Some like to use a leave in conditioner or coconut oil when scrunching to get rid of some frizz that may come with it.

Here is a page on plopping.

There are also some videos on youtube on plopping if you are more of a visual person.

Pixiecurling is where you place the diffuser and dryer where you want it in your hair, and then turn it on. Then turn off the dryer before moving it to a new section of hair.

Pineappling is where you place a very high pony on the top of your head to achieve second day hair.

The icequeen method from what I have read is where while you have your rinse out conditioner in your hair, you scrunch it in to encourage clumps, and then rinse upside down with cool water.

If I find a thread with some explanations of techniques I'll be sure to post a link for you.

Thanks lilcurls, I appreciate you taking the time to explain these techniques.
I do think it would be helpful if there was a sticky or something permanent.
