Wow - Ky Jelly
I was intrigued when I read a few post here about using Ky Jelly in your hair. I bought the small tube of generic version at Walmart and tried it out this morning. First of all, I thought the texture of the gel is similiar to Phyto's defrissant gel (without the $26 pricetag!). It felt great going on my hair and then I used a strong gel on top of it. It gave me great clumps. I air-dried as it was a beautiful sunny day and the results are fantastic. I could probably use a little more Ky Jelly next time, the back is a little poufy, but the front looks great.
I hope it works as well next time. I also read that someone put the product in another container - I just may do that too. Kind of wierd having my teenage girls seeing the Ky Jelly in the bathroom! Really kids - its for my hair

I've gone through spurts of using that in my hair. I agree, the results are great - just be cautious of the generic stuff. Some of it I've found flakes horribly. Yuck.

I've come to the conclusion my hair loves glycerin... I think I'll be having to buy some of this soon. Anyone know if any UK own-brands are comperable, or should I just go for the branded stuff?

Don't get KLY, a brand sold in Morrison's. It forms little jelly lumps and makes white dots all over your hair!!! No slip, just blobby mess. It's no good for the other purpose either

Eww - bleck. I'm thinking that if any own brand is suitable, Boots would probably be best. A lot of their own stuff is as good as if not better than the name brand stuff.

Yeah Boots are pretty reliable. Maybe get a small tube first just in case. I'm turning back onto the KY actually, my hair is crying out for some moisture and TLC

I'm thinking boots or superdrug would be good! I got my aunt to bring me some equate from LA (4 tubes!) and I forgot to tell her why (stupid me assumed she would know. Why, I have no idea!)
Lol that was an embarrassing situation! But things did get cleared up haha.

This might be love...
I'm thinking HG for summertime! (...angels singing..light shining from above) Finally tried KY and BRHG for the first time with some Rockin Ringlets sandwiched in between.
Its 88% humidity with a dewpoint of 72 and I have curls, volume and almost NO frizz!
WOO HOO!
Sorry, just had to share.

I can see it now.....
Ellageorgina: "Auntie, can you bring four honkin' tubes of KY with you when you visit? Pleeeeease?"
Auntie: "Ummmm...okay...? Sweetie, what exactly are you doing over there in your free time?? No, no, nevermind. Don't tell me. I don't wanna know."

LOL.. Well I thought this was a joke but looks like the joke is on me.. I never thought to ever put KY jelly in my hair.. LOL! My mind went instantly to the KY warming liquid in my nightstand.. ROFLMAO!
But I mean it is basically mostly glycerin and water. And I actually use a vegetable glycerin and distilled water solution on my hair often and get really good results. So I would suspect KY working pretty good for people who can handle glycerin.
I think I am gonna stick to my Now veggie glycerin and distilled water though. Plus, I don't like the way KY smells.. to me it smells like a latex condom but when you use it for other things well I guess you are HARDLY thinking about that... *giggle*.

Do you have any CVS stores near you? They usually always carry it.

Hey Betty, does your wal-mart not have it? I'm near Melbourne, FL along the coast and all of our publix have it, as well as Wal-Mart. In Publix, its usually on an end cap with the higher dollar brands, not with all their other shampoo styling aids.

Not only that but you know that Publix can get it so they will order it for you if you ask them to.

I tried CVS and even asked in Walgreens Today and although they carry some BioSilk -- they didn't have the BRHG. I WILL double check the end displays in Publix -- I didn't do that. I am on Hutchinson Island, closer to Stuart than Fort Pierce. Thanks everyone, if not, I'll see if Publix will order it.
