Default Curl Cloths

First off - let me tell how AMAZING these cloths are, I ordered them the first day I saw them here. I went to their website, which is curlslikeus.com

I got my cloths (2 in a pack, choose from pink and pumpkin or blue and green) in two days. The total cost was just under $30.00.

Wash them before using (no fabric softeners!), air dry them and if you must put them in a dryer do NOT use a fabric softener, it says on the website that fabric softeners can negatively impact the cloth, but it does not say that anywhere on the product or with the detailed instructions. I found the detailed instructions not so detailed, so I read everything I could about them before I ordered them.

I am so HAPPY with them, it is a little ridiculous. I just recently (gasp, I know) plopped my hair - after watching the demo on the jessicurl website and I prefer the cloths to plopping, less frizz and better curls.

Sorry for the long response! Hope it was helpful.

How do they compare to a microfiber towel and a Curlease towel?

Default Curl Cloths

Sorry, I am just starting to embrace my curls to the point where I make it a lifestyle and not just a style. Curl cloths are the first 'special' towel I have ever used. Until last Friday I was using a regular towel. I plopped using my husband's old t-shirt that is made out of ringspun cotton, it is a J Crew shirt. (He wasn't thrilled, but my hair looked awesome!)

I am curl educated enough to know to avoid 'cones' and sulphates, to condition more than I shampoo, and to deep treat. That is about it.

The curl cloths do exactly what they promise, they wick away excess water, curls clump together, and hair is not left frizzy at all. They are totally worth the $30 - that is two cloths and shipping. I don't get a kickback or anything, I just have never encountered a product that does EXACTLY what is claims to do - not even Ouidad, and I swear by her Balancing Rinse conditioner and Tress F/X gel.
In fact the Tress F/X is the only product I use on my hair - I rinse out most of the conditioner.

Unless you already have the perfect towel, get the curl cloths - oh, you can't plop with a curl cloth, they aren't big enough.

Thanks for the advice. I ordered them. Anything which cuts frizz and encourages clumping catches my eye and wallet!

I think I LOVE THEM TOO....I even plopped in it, after I was done blotting and applying my products I kind of stuck all my hair in it then secured it with a duck billed clip and I plopped. I am going to try it again today, I will use one to blot and another to dry...

I would also like to know how these compare to the Curlease towels. Anyone?

I wish these were also sold in single packs because I only want one, the pink-edged. I don't feel I need two. My hair isn't that long anymore & it's thinnish to medium.

Lazy_loops: I was thinking of just getting one myself... we could maybe go in on it together if you wanted.

I'd like to hear how they compare to the Curlease, too. I have so many Curlease towels and love them, plus I'm a plopper, so don't know if there's really any benefit to me ordering these unless they are SOOO much better than Curlease.

I thought these might be good for travel. When I was in a hotel, my flour sack towel was in the bathroom away from the other towels. The cleaning people took the "damp" one. I know they didn't do it to "take" it, they thought they were doing their job. These towels couldn't be mistaken for white hotel towels.

Ok the curlease towel is a very thin cotton almost like the baby diapers. (guaze like) The CURL CLOTHS ARE JUST LIKE A cotton tee-shirt so that would be the difference and the curlease is thin and big and the curl cloth is a cylinder shape, almost like a muff...( thats how you hold it)..

So since you can't plop in these, would you say that these work better than plopping with a microfiber towel?

I just tried plopping for the first time a couple of days ago after reading about it here. I used a t-shirt, and I had to do it overnight because it was late, which I think led to my hair being kind of frizzy the next day. I think 15 minutes would have been best. I'll try again, but I'm wondering if maybe this would be a better way to go . . .

Exactly my thinking!! But I HATE thinking there might be something better than what I have!!! Or not knowing. Freaking PJism!

Wow, very fast shipping! Mine arrived today and have gone through the washer per instructions. They are cute and feel like a T-shirt. I have some hair products to try tomorrow and the towel. Wahoo, except it's supposed to rain so if I get great hair - it won't last long. Will post back after trying them.

Doesn't Kara's salon sell them separately? I've seen them there, but never paid attention to whether they were in a two-pack or singles.

When I get money, I might have to try them. Just because I have to try everything. Twice. Maybe three times.

How big are these towels? Are they big enough to plop in? Someone said they plopped with it, but from the pics the towels look pretty small...
