Am I the only one AOHR didn't work for?
I got AOHR conditioner and tried it twice before I HAD to return it! I couldn't even stand to try it any more times....It made my hair dry, it didn't feel moisturized whatsoever when I had it in my hair or when I rinsed it out, and it gave me tons and tons of frizz! Bleck...
I swear I haven't found anyone on here that wasn't gushing about how moisturizing and awesome AOHR is...I had such high hopes
Well enough rant....but I am wondering if anyone else had bad results with AOHR and/or if anyone knows what would have caused this for my hair lol.
Thanks!

I can't remember if I tried AOHR (pretty sure I did), but I tried a few Aubrey's conditioners and shampoos, and I just didn't like them, no matter how much I wanted to. My hair felt like straw when dry. It was frizzy and not moisturized. Hated the smell of most of them too.

I've been using it for a week or two now and still can't decide. I did a DT immediately after getting it, but my hair was still dry. Attributed that to my protein recovery, as well as build-up issues I was having. I had to use a sulfate shampoo the other night, and did a DT with this right after, and it left my hair pretty soft. So not sure where I am on this one.
I don't like the smell though, and it kind of reminds me of sunscreen.

I didn't like it either. It did not moisturize my hair at all! I am in love with Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner, it has made a huge difference in my hair and a little goes a long way!

I am not sure I really like it either. It doesn't seem to do any miraculous wonders for my hair. I keep giving it a chance and I think I will just find myself giving it away.

Ugh, I loathe this conditioner, it made my hair an awful, frizzy, stringy mess. I tried it so many times, because I wanted it to work so badly! I am in the odd minority who actually kind of liked the smell, but I ended up just throwing it away.

I think it may depend on your hair type and also whether you shampoo?? I've just used AOHR for the first time and love it - but I have thick dry 3c hair - it's really softened my hair and made it less dry however I did not use the shampoo (I co wash) and understand that this is the product that dries hair out not the condish. Have you tried the condish without the poo?

I'm not sure I was crazy about it, either - just not any noticeable improvement/moisturisation. I was happy enough with it I guess, but when I switched back to Body Shop Olive condish my hair was much more slippery smooth/detangled easier. I think it (AOHR) might have been a bit heavy for my 3a curls. Plus it was weird that it smelled and looked like sunscreen to me! I am curious to try other natural conditioners available in the U.K. now like Faith in Nature and Avalon though. And maybe even a different Aubrey one, some people prefer the White Camelia over AOHR I think.

hmm...well i'm thinking my hair is a 3a/3b and is quite dry and frizzy so thats why i was so excited to try something that everyone was finding to be super moisturizing lol. anyways i used it with giovanni 50/50 shampoo at the time, i haven't used any of the AO shampoos as I too heard they were very drying.
i really liked that it had all natural ingredients...too bad we're all in the minority of those who it didn't work for boo

My hair didn't like the AOHR either. The first time I used it, it left my hair kind of puffy and frizzy. The second time I used it as a DT and it actually seemed to leave my hair dry. My hair doesn't seem to like jojoba oil which this condish has so I'm thinking that might have been the culprit.
I'd really like to try the AOWC because it doesn't have jojoba but I'm afraid I'll get the same results since the ingredients are pretty similar. Don't feel like wasting the money again.

It softens my hair too much. Good for a DT tho there are others I far prefer.
Hate the smell tho.

I don't like AOHR and it didn't work for me at all. First off, it was too thick and it just sat on my hair and it didn't give me any kind of slip. Second, I hated the smell.
I LOVE Aubrey Organics Island Naturals Conditioner though.

It didn't do anything bad to my hair, but didn't so anything good either. Worked no better than my $1 Suave conditioners.
And I detested the smell. I used it to shave with and was relieved to get to the bottom of the bottle so I didn't have to smell it anymore.

So far it has made my hair feel dry even after DT or conditioning.
I'm curious how many of us complaining about it have fine hair. I've noticed several with coarser hair praising it, but not many if any on the finer side.

Initially, I thought is was just ok. I had to use honey to cut the thickness and to add more slip. Then I started to like it more. But, for some reason it built up in my hair and caused it to shed. So no....you're not the only one. I can't use this conditioner or any of AO hair products.

This didn't work for me at all. I'm pretty sure I have an issue with jojoba specifically, and oils in general (I can't use products containing a lot of oil for too many days in a row).

Glad there are more AOHR failures out there. My hair hated it too. It was like some kind of protein freak-out. I have no issues with any of the oils (not sure about camellia though) I can slather them on neat with no worries. Plus, yeah, the smell. Gah! I traded it fast.

In an attempt to avoid starting a thread with almost the same topic...
AOHR WAS working miracles on my hair, for about a week and a half. Lately, it's been doing ZERO. I even had to slather on some of my Suave co-wash, which probably did just as good a job moisturizing.
Any ideas why this happened?
Is it permanent?
If so, what are some EXCELLENT moisturizing conditioners?
