Pretika Sonic Dermabrasion Facial Brush
I have wanted to buy the Clarisonic for awhile now, but just couldn't justify shelling out nearly $200. I decided to purchase the Pretika and I couldn't be happier. I used it last night and this morning and my skin feels so much softer already. I bought it from drugstore.com and with my 20% off coupon, I paid $39.19 for the brush. Woo hoo!
Just wanted to spread the word to anyone who is considering a Clarisonic but is turned off by the price. I also read on some beauty blogs that Rite Aid pharmacies carry the exact same model in stores for about $40.

Thanks for the review. I've also been debating getting the Clarisonic but it's just too much $$ right now.
Do you use it with a cleanser or just water? I use the OCM to clean my face at night right now so I'm not sure how to use it with that method.

I use it with my PSF Gentle Castille Cleanser. I use it both morning and evening. At night, I first remove my makeup with an oil blend and wipe it off with a warm washcloth. Then I apply the cleanser to my face, massage it in to get it foamy, then use the Pretika. I also wet the brush under the faucet before using it on my face. I have only used the low setting so far. For now, that seems to be working great.
I have been noticing quite an improvement in my skin since I started using the brush. The other day I even got a glowing compliment on my skin and I didn't have any makeup on - nothing!
I think the quality of the brush is excellent, I cant imagine what the Clarisonic does differently to justify the pricetag. I'm sure it's a great brush, but I'm not sure it's worth that much dough.
I'm even thinking of ditching my 5% BHA, once I'm done with my bottle. I have seen more improvement in my skin tone from the brush than I have ever seen with the skin acids. The 5% is very strong and I can't use it very often as it makes my skin flake and peel too much anyways.
When I was shopping around, I think HSN has the same brush for the same price, but they were out of stock. I had signed up to receive email from drugstore.com and had just received a 20% off anything coupon code. And that baby arrived in less than 48 hours. All in all, a pretty great deal!

Thanks Missspam. I was in Rite Aid yesterday and they had a similar brush by Pretika that came in a kit with a cleanser and exfoliator cream but it didn't say Sonic in the description so I didn't get it. It didn't look like the one in the link you posted either. I will probably just get it from Drugstore.com.

I think you may have seen the Pretika that is smaller and runs on batteries only, not the rechargeable one. I have read only negative things about the smaller model.
DO NOT BUY!

I just saw this thread. Thank you for posting! I am one of those people who can't bring myself to spend $200 for a Clarisonic. I'll definitely try the Pretika though!
How did I ever get along without NC.com?

Yes, I'm still loving the Pretika! MUA is one of the sites where I read reviews on the brush. Great site.
You're welcome.
Magoo - Have you ordered your Pretika yet?

I feel the same on both topics!
I am going to check this out. I recently bought my hair dryer from drugstore.com and was happy with the service.

I've kind of been on a hair product PJ binge so I haven't ordered it yet. I'm planning to soon though.

Just as an FYI-QVC is carrying these. Drugstore.com was out of stock as was HSN. And Bed Bath and Beyond was more expensive. With shipping it was $45.11

Just an FYI. I was reading Pretika reviews on MUA and one poster noted that they're coming out with a newer model in September.
Amazon.com shows a Pretika model ST236. I'm not sure if that's the "new" model since there are reviews from 2007. However, Pretika's website only shows the more discussed ST255 and battery operated MD170.

I LOVE this brush! I was in the same boat - wanted the Clairsonic, but couldnt justify the price! I found this at the Brookstone outlet a few months back and couldnt possbly imagine that the Clairisonic would be any different!
Mine was 30$ with 2 heads, and its the one that recharges in the stand, not battery opperated

I got mine yesterday. I let it charge for almost 24 hours. I used it today in the shower. I used it with the green tea soap that MUAC sent me. I think used the MUAC toner. The toner stung a bit more then it ever has - must have 'opened' up stuff. With my sensitive skin I will probably use 1-2 times a week tops (I am thinking before I use my peel)...I think I could see my face getting irritated if I used it daily.

I was under the impression that the ST236 was replaced by the ST255. Whether Pretika will be replacing that one as well is interesting. I see that the drugstore.com link in my OP is not working, but the model I bought from them is the ST255 pictured here:
http://www.pretikafacebodyspa.com/sofacasyst.html
I can't seem to find that particular model anywhere else online, except for the Pretika website. Perhaps they are getting ready to launch a new model.

I wanted to update that I did end up ordering this a few weeks ago and I'm loving it. I've definitely noticed a difference in my skin.
Thanks for suggesting it Misspam!

I've been using my Pretika for about a week and I'm a happy camper. The model I got from drugstore.com was the ST255.
I was wondering if you ladies charge your brush after every use or keep it off the base for a few days?

I'm so glad you're liking it! I usually just put it back on the charger after each use. I thought I read that because of the type of battery, you don't need to let it run completely down before recharging.
