I love her hair. If I only had to wet and wash my hair once a week I would go through all that. Can't do it every 2-3 days and I'm certainly not going to bet with wet hair in a braid or one twist (if I could even make my hair stay in one twist!). I would have to do this in the morning and let it air dry which would double the time my routine takes. As it is washing hair and my shower take 35-45 minutes.
I do something similar but no brushing and mostly no combing either. I let the (gobs of different) conditioners do the work and smooth conditoner through in sections (larger ones) smoothing hair from ends and working upwards. If the conditoner isn't slippery enough I add KBB Hair Milk (slip city) to the ends. Then once the detangling is done I use the smoothing and raking she writes about to separate.
I really don't see how she does all this outside of the shower. Maybe she mops her floor every day?

I believe she's already a member but doesn't post much. I know she's also a member at LHCF.

Yeah I saw this. Very cool. I always get excited to hear the voice of someone whose words I have followed on the internet. And it's always funny because nobody sounds the way they write. She was the closest I have seen yet.

Interesting video. I never knew that you could even touch your hair after using the denman. I was told that you move the denman through and don't touch the hair.
So this is good to know.

Dang, her hair is so long. I wouldn't have the patience to do all that smoothing! No way would I have time either.

I tried this last Thursday and not only did conditioner get everywhere. But, my hair looked very dry. I had to use coconut oil and I never have to do that with a wash-n-go. I normally do leave a little conditioner in so apparently I need to stick to what was already working for me. Just wanted to see if I could cut out the one styling product that I use. I guess using one styling products really isn't bad!

I've tried doing this myself. My hair is quite long now and I've been looking for a routine that I can keep for 4-5 days instead of the usual 2 days. I'm jealous as hell she can go for a week without re-wetting. For me all the gym time makes for frizz.
Unfortunately I'm still not a fan.
I like my hair big and curly. Unfortunately all the smoothing the individual little curls makes my hair flat.
When she explains it, it makes sense to do your hair that way. Unfortuately my hair doesn't feel it makes sense.
I'll stick to raking, I prefer big and fluffy hair.

Teri's Video
I use her technique but I have modified it a bit. I add KCCC for hold because I can only get 1-2 days at the most out of conditioner only styling. I am glad that she got more specefic about seperating the curls. It made me realize that we have a gazillion curls, Ha! It gets hard once I get to the crown and back of my head. I have that coarse spot at the crown so I have little tiny curls-it's a bicep workout. All you can do is the best that you can. I like her because she has suggestions for TWA's and long haired curlies. Now if we could find someone who has mid-length advice. I am going crazy over here.

Haven't been on if forever, but I LOVE Terri's hair and site!
She saved me a lot of headaches and her technique(for the most part) works for me. I can't say I do exactly what she does(I air dry to about 80% dry then mix con w/ a touch of water in my hands and rake through my hair then smooth), but conditioner as a leave-in/styler works better than anything else I've ever tried.

Question...what conditioners are you ladies using with this method? I've experimented a few times, and my hair always looks nice when its wet, but when it dries it gets crunchy (almost like I used a heavy gel) and it feels dry and looks dull.

^^Because of that very reason is why I have to do my hair the night before. No matter how little condish I use my hair is crunchy when it dries. However in the morning it is soft and big.
