OK, maybe because I don't have a baby but... I don't get it? What is that? It looks a little uhh dangerous.

I have a baby (well, she's 21 now) and I don't really get it, either. I guess it's supposed to relax them more or something.

A woman on the NutriSystem message board has a pic of her baby in one as her avatar, which is why I had to research it. I dunno, man.

Weird. Seems like a lot of work to bathe a newborn that way. I wonder how much one costs?

Haha! From their website, "babies naturally adopt the fetal position" in these things... probably because that is the only way they will fit inside! lol

Seems like it would be hard to wash their butts in that thing.

:lol It looks like a bucket with no handle. I'm sure people will buy it though. Just another gimmick, on par with Rachael Ray's "garbage bowl."

It seems like it'd be more work and stress. The water wasn't the problem with us, it was the cooler air outside the bathwater, and the slipperiness of a soaped up newborn.

Good lord, they are $50! On what planet can you sell a bucket for $50 and call it a tummy tub and people will buy it? Oh, that would be $100 if you want the stupid flower looking 'stool' it can perch on. I am in shock.

alright.. well as far as assisting them in acclimating to the outside environment- Maybe- but i'm tending to think here it goes a little into the area of ridiculous - I mean, really- how does one get the little nooks and crannies clean???

Doesn't look efficient for cleaning but looks like it could be relaxing. Who is actually paying 50 bucks for a see through bucket? Seriously?

Yeah, gotta say it's definately a play for the *natural* living movement that has now become just another target area for marketers of any such stuff that appears to be good for baby. What's funny is the necesary equipment for a healthy baby is all pretty simple. God forbid someone wash their baby in the kitchen sink!

I had a similar one for Nadia:

It was only $20 or so. I liked it. She liked it. I think it's good for the newborn stage where babies really don't like being on their backs. I wans't worried about washing her butt, because I cleaned her butt well with wipes at every diaper change and before the bath *shrug*

$50 is ridiculous, though. And the tummy tub looks very tippy. I liked that the one I had was very sturdy.

am I the only one who wants to throw in some carrots and celery?!?!?!? (ok, just kidding)

I love the concept of a garbage bowl (and sometimes I use one) but who in the heck pays $20 for one?!

My mom used the white trash version of the Tummy Tub: The kitchen sink.
