Okay, so are you CG? What products do you use; light or thick and creamy?
My problem is the opposite; thanks to CG it's even thicker than before and is getting hard to handle, lol.

You could try..
These to loosen your curls.
And your hair is growing every day. Curly hair just looks shorter since it doesn't grow in a straight line. Just cut it if necessary and otherwise keep it in protective styles, moisturize your ends, and try not to think about it until it's at the length you are trying to acheive. Bear in mind this can take several years.. it's not an overnight thing.

Aren't those "curl formers" suppose to make curls on straight hair ? Are they also used for loosening curls ?

They seem to work on straight or curly hair. Curlynikki is the curlformer queen.. I've never used them myself.

You have to start somewhere.
I suggest you start by doing something to stop your hair from falling. First of all , you have to determine why your hair is falling out. Have you been relaxing / texturizing it ? If not maybe something is missing in your diet, or maybe you've been applying too much heat to your hair.
After you determine what's causing it you'll know better how to deal with it.
For a start, try putting olive oil or shea butter on your hair. Massage your scalp with it and apply it to your hair. Try to refrain from using heat on your hair.
Try washing your hair not more than once a week.
Once a week you can try using a hair mask.
A good one is the olive oil, egg, and jasmine oil hair mask.
You'll need about :
1/2 cup good quality pure olive oil
1 egg yolk (the yellow)
a few drops of jasmine oil (only for scent, so if you don't have jasmine oil you can make the mask without it).
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and apply to your hair. Put on a shower cap and be prepared as it might start dripping and might be messy. You can wrap your head in a towel to prevent the oil from dripping.
Keep it on for about half an hour and then wash and condition as usual.
After a few times you should notice that your hair is stronger and is falling out much less.
I hope this helps. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
Good luck

I think I may have to tell my mum about this one... Can you use another oil instead of the jasmine oil and olive oil?

you can do without the jasmine oil, but you need the olive oil.

LOL at drop thats a new one.. everyone wants to stop shrinkage aka drop their curl lol... but I dont think there is a way unless you manipulate the hair by rolling or straigtening etc.. there is no cream or shampoo or way of combing that will give you less shrinkage... i personally wanna try henna it's known for dropping your curl, i've had some for about a year i'm just scared to use it lol....

I highly recommend henna. If you are concerned about how it will affect your hair, begin to save your shed hairs and test the henna on these strands before putting henna on hair. If you live in an area with Indian stores, you can pick up a box of henna for $4 or so.

Kinky Curly Curling Custard along with the Knot Today has always allowed for less shrinkage. I love it.

To stretch your curls, you can put them in loose ponytails at night and secure with silk srcunchies or silk ties of some sort. Then put a satin bonnet over it. In the morning, you should have less shrinkage. You can also do this after you have washed your hair when your hair is at least 80-90% dry and it should help.
I have much less shrinkage since I've been doing this. However, I should mention that my strands are fine but my hair is dense/thick so you might want to wait on this until your hair is thicker. I do loose ponys but if you do them too tight, you will damage your hair.
For me, cutting out products with sulfates and petrochemicals has helped my hair get stronger and healthier. HTH

Yeah, the ponytail thing helps me with shinkage, but it has to be at 90% dry, I do one high scrunchie for at least 30 mins then take down and shake loose. Another thing that works is the coconut oil and plain yogart treatments, but it only works for me until I wash again, some say it lasts for months.

I just tried a yogurt treatment recently. I don'ythink my hair agreed with the other ingredients (I used olive oil and honey) but my hair behaved better afterward. I think it was the yogurt! The oil and honey seemed to be stuck in the roots of my hair

ahh I'll check it out. Castor oil alone is too heavy for me but I haven't tried organic coconut oil alone. Both are ok in products where they're low on the list though.

My newest quest is getting second day hair without rewetting. I just finished the banding method, I'll post results tomorrow. Usually anything I do at night leaves me with curls that look like a bunch of broken limbs. As soon as I add anything like water or conditioner or a spray anything I get poof, frizz and shrinkage.

I'm just now getting 2nd day hair on a consistent basis after being natural for almost 2 yrs. The difference for me was that I now use products that look good on wet or dry hair. I wash my hair at night and do the loose ponytails. I fluff it out and have "big hair" afterward. I'm still tweaking it but the main difference is that I'm not trying to "tame" my hair as much. I think my mindset is different. I working toward enhancing it, rather than taming it down.

Yeah, I think I need to join that support group as well. "Hi, my name is ______ and I'm trying to make my hair do what I want it to."
