Question Advice for my hubby (4a, growing out)

My hubby has been bugging me to grow out his hair again and start putting junky petroleum stuff in it.
I hate that petroleum stuff and told him I'd find him something better.
He is ethnically African and has 4a curls (my best guess).
I want some kind of pomade that has no petroleum, mineral oil and no -cones of any kind. Also it should be under $10/2oz.

I was considering the Giovanni Magnetic Pomade but would like to get some suggestions as well.

Thanks!

Chopped off the long locks upon my return to the States to get all the nasty dye out. Started fresh with just henna for color and growing my way out again...

I suggest Lustrasilk (the Olive Oil Cholestrol Lustrasilk and the Mango Shea Lustasilk are the top contenders) as a leave in and it's 2 bucks and some change for 20 oz!.

Conditioner, I can't help, still trying to find mine, but I hope this helps!
