Default Acidic rinse (ACV) after protein DT?

I read a comment on another thread yesterday about the need to do this (I'll be darned if I can find it now). That is, protein DT, acidic rinse, then moisture DT. I am doing this today (actually sitting here with the moisture DT now). Anyway, does anyone know why you need to use the acidic rinse (I'm assuming ACV) after the protein DT? Just curious...TIA

This wasn't the thread, but it's so much better! The one I saw was just a brief comment which is why I had no clue as to why you'd need to use ACV after protein. This was exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks so much!

It does sound like protein, ACV then moisture. It all makes sense now as thoroughly explained by SW. I did this today and it did work very well. My hair is full of life today, not poofy, but just right with bouncy curls and volume.
Thanks again Wavy!

Thumbs up Worked for me

I did this last night too with Nexxus Emergencee followed by an ACV and then a moisturizing DT with conditioner, olive oil, and coconut oil. I have always thought I was protein sensitive because my hair cannot tolerate daily protein in conditioners however my hair is AB-FAB today! My pouf is gone and gel is actually holding my curls and giving them definition without being overly crunchy or stringy. I have excellent bounce and my hair doesn't feel weighed down by conditioner. I think I will continue to do these once a month or so to see if I get continued improvement. It's hard not to do them more often because my hair feels so good.

CC21, I did this method for DT's on Sunday and ended up with great results. I was away for 2 days for work related training and still am having great hair. Not that it's 2nd or 3rd day hair because I still haven't figured that out, but great curls and no frizz! I expected that with staying in a hotel and not having my usual products on hand, that I might have a couple of not so good hair days. Not so! Glad to hear that someone else found this works well.
