Carol's daughter hair how to videos
Here's Carol's daughter hair how-to videos.
http://www.carolsdaughter.com/display.do?ruleID=100464
My thoughts on the video on natural curls (tight curls), I thought they could have styled her hair better. Maybe a wash and go style. Can you have a wash and go style with Carol daughter products for 4a/4b hair?
Any thoughts?

I agree with you. I didn't like the way they styled the girl's hair with the tight curls. Her hair looked much better in the before pic. He had the nerve to say her curls were defined. All he did was comb them out.
I've heard not so good things about the CD line but watching the stylist apply the products was enticing. I kinda want to try the shampoo but everyone gives it such bad reviews.
As for wash n go styles. There was a note in one of the videos saying apply the hair milk on wet hair for defined curls. But I haven't tried any of her products so I don't know personally. I'm sure someone will chime in.

Is it just me, or did it look like he didn't really put the Hair Milk in her hair. As far as "defining her curls" it didn't do that at all. Honestly, I didn't like her hair; she looked like a female version of Herman Munster from The Munsters. It looked better BEFORE he messed with it.

the only thing i want to try is that hair balm. the colored treated models hair looked really shiny when he applied it to her hair. i think carol's daughter stuff only works if you are happy with no hold/almost product free hair. as far as definition goes on the tight curl model her naked hair looked better.

I thought tight looked better before. I liked loose's increased volume but he didn't do much to enhance her texture.

I just LOLed at the Herman Munster comparison....*tears.*
I agree that style looked outright ridiculous....I'd be pissed to hell if they put a video of me with my hair looking like that.
I agree that it didn't look like her used much product at all. Just little dabs here and there and scrunched it into the hair. My hair couldn't get away with that.
I was also annoyed that he straightened one of the girls' hair.

me too, i thought what was the point in putting all those products in her hair just to straighten it, was he not meant to show how well the products were at defining her hair? the same can be said for the tight curly lady like where was the definition?
my guess is he is just trying to hide the fact that the products really don't work esp. with the amount he was putting in.
OMG and the ring and bracelet i'm sorry but i would ask politely of course for him to remove those because if somehow my hair was to snag i would not be very happy

I would have ask him also to remove all jewerly before doing my hair.
I have used the hair milk, but it was too greasy for my hair.

I can't view them
Are the videos down? I can't see them. I'm curious about them though because it seems that they have such bad reviews on this board and some others, yet their fan base on Facebook is like 20,000 people so somebody likes it! I have yet to use the CD products in my hair though. Only the oil. All the body stuff is fab.

they r stil lup, u have to click on th e" curl type" to see the vid.
I dont care about the fact that her hair isnt defined, b/c im one of those who doesnt think its neccesary to have to have definition W/ every hair style, but I just dont like the shape he molded her 'fro into.

I thought it was just me. I seriously thought her hair looked better before too. why do folks just not know how to style tightly coiled hair. I used to love carol's daughter back in the day when they were more homemade.

First let me say..I am not a Carol's Daughter product fan, but I was objective when watching the videos. To me the products have a medicinal smell and are to greasy for my hair.
I didn't care for any of the curly videos because I just thought the process the stylist utilized was a waste.
The tight curly video especially. I actually preferred the woman's hair BEFORE he touched it. I felt like he caused her hair to be extra frizzy. I believe her hair would have looked better if he didn't try to comb it out the way he did.. like if he had combed it out soaking wet with a lot of conditioner in it..it would have looked better. As a matter of fact, I didn't care for the general technique he used to comb any of the curly hair.
And the style he created on the tight curly video model..bleh. I didn't get the whole reverse pompadorish thing he made in the front. It looked dated. I thought it was cuter the way she had it pulled up some herself!

Sodium Bicarbonate=bake soda ???
So yes,why this ingredient is leave-in?OMG?
I never used the products in I didn't like them the videos
the only that that was more or less was the color treat
I don't understand the brand that speaks that they doesn't have petrolatum but has silicons...

LOL...I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who thought the tight curly looked better before the after...I tried CD products early in my natural journey and was not happy with the results or the price.

IMO, he may not know how to style natural hair without it being straight (blow dried or pressed). I wonder if he asked for some advice or even pictures of natural hair styles that are not locs?
I know of a few ladies who loced their hair because they DID NOT know how to maintain their natural hair without straightening it.

I'm not a fan of CD hair products, they just sorta sit on my hair and make it feel greasy. But I love the bath & body stuff

My mom purchased one of the sets from HSN and tried it last week and her hair looked a mess. It was frizy and dry looking. OMG, I told her to send that stuff back because she got robbed!
