Default Satin cap v/s satin pillowcase

I've been sleeping in a satin cap lately and love it for getting great 2nd day hair. However, I'm noticing that the cap is leaving an elastic mark across my forehead that's taking longer and longer to fade after I remove the cap, and I'm worried about the long-term effects of wearing the cap on my skin. It's one of the elastic-banded caps from Sally's with the bit of lace around the edge.

So. Should I be using a satin pillowcase instead? For those who have tried both, do they give you about the same effect? I feel like the cap holds the hair in place better overnight to minimize frizzing.

Also, any suggestions on better caps that won't leave marks on my skin? Thanks!

I have that same cap. You can clip it up further into your hair on the front and it won't sneak down onto your forehead at night.

I recently bought one of these caps:

And the elastic is very comfie and does not leave a mark. It's really soft and comfortable.

I had the same issue with caps and I break out with satin pillow cases because it doesn't absorb the oil the way cotton does. I've been wondering if there are any kinds of scarves I could just wrap around and tie.

A while back, someone posted about the Satin Sakks, and they work really great...there's velcro on the band, so you can adjust it to what works best for you.

Or www.satinsakks.com

HTH!

Thanks for all the responses, ladies! I ended up doing some searching on the site and found the SatinSakks reviews, so I ordered one last night to try it out. It looks like it wouldn't leave any marks on my forehead. And I'll try clipping my cap back a bit, thanks for the tip, Stacy!

I tried using a cap after diffusing, but I always woke up with very strange hair. It bent my curls and made my hear really unwearable for some reason. I was going to buy the pillow case but I found a satin night shirt lying around my house, so I found no reason. What I do is wrap the shirt around my hair and just sleep with the wrapped hair above my head. I wake up with my hair in pretty much the same state as it was the night prior. Obviously this won't cause any damage to your skin either.
