Help!!!!!!!!
Ok I never thought the day would come when I would be considering chemicals.
So here goes:
I was rearended twice in one week back in September. I have limited motor ability in my right hand and by the way I am right handed!!! Now the doctors are saying this could possibly be permanent . I am mad but that is what insurance and GOOD LAWYERS are for.
I am in therapy 4 times a week. At times it seems that it is getting better and then at times it doesn't.
Anywoo, I look a mess!!!!!!!!!! My hair is so puffy and frizzy. I have been trying my best with my left hand but its not working out. I tried to rollerset and I look like the Lion King. I am seriously considering getting something because I don't know how much longer I can tolerate looking a mess. I have even cut about 3 inches off in september to help out a little
What say you ladies?!?!?!?!

What about protective styles? Getting it done every 2-3 weeks like twists and braids. That way you don't have to do much to it, just put your bonnet on at night, and moisturize lightly daily.

I have tried protective styles prior to this. No bueno! I didnt like it at all.....individual braids with just my hair ( didn't like) but I do like bunning. Bunning involves too much for me at this point. I have been wearing my hair in a big puff and every 3 days my grandmother helps me co wash and detangle (makes me feel like a little kid again). I was considering cornrows but IDK anyone who would do them. I am tender headed and normally if I have braids its because I have done them myself.

I may just have to rock this puff routine for a while. IDK how long therapy will last. I will find that out after orthopedics appt. May have surgery, so I am going to have to figure out something within the next 2 weeks. I wish my mother knew how to cornrow...I told her it would be beneficial one day.....and that one day is NOW...smh lol

I broke my arm in high school. I'm talking in half needed surgery and could'nt move that arm until I had a month of rehab, and trust me even with a relaxer ur hair if still hard to do. It was a tangled mess when I could use my arm again. I'm right handed and it was my left arm, but I used to use my left hand for everything but writing. It was a transition. I think u should just get someone to braid your hair for now because even if it is permanent you'd be amazed at what you can train ur other hand to so. Wait until you know for sure what to expect before you make a big decision like that is what I say because either way, with a disabled hand your hair will be very hard to do until u train yourself to use the other. You could get 2 simple braids with ur real hair nothing fancy or expensive and u can be sure u made the right decision. You could go to a salon. If you get less braids then tenderheadedness wont really matter bc it wont hurt, wigs are an option too, or maybe ask ur mom to help you with CURLY Nikki's (curlynikki.com) signature twist n curl that's not too difficult and it can last awhile.

I agree on the twists/braids idea. i know you said you didn't really care for them on yourself, but sometimes you just have to roll with it, especially in situations like these.
I would think unless you cut it down to a TWA, that styling is still going to be an issue. If you did get a relaxer/texturizer, it still takes would probably take both hands to style it the way you like.

thanks :)
Thanks ladies! No chemicals....a friend of mines is going to do flat twist into a bun. She said it should last 1.5 to 2 weeks and I will probably keep getting this for a while! Which is good because I have aquatic therapy (for my back...I am all messed up) as well. So having my hair up is great. Plus it only takes 2hrs and I have not been able to sit up in a chair longer than that due to my injuries. I appreciate all the feedback!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! times 10 lol
