Default Eeekk!!! My hair is turning brown!!!!

I have noticed this quite recently while out in the sun...my hair is turning brown. I was born with jet black hair (that is what my mom continues to tell me). When I used to get my hair relaxed my hair did the same thing...went from black to brown. Has anyone experienced their hair turning brown. I just want to make sure it is not damage or something of that nature.

I do not use any chemicals on my hair. The only products that I currently use includes: unrefined shea butter, kosher glycerin, organic extra virgin olive oil, natural grapeseed oil, Carol's Daughter loc butter (rarely), Trader Joe's Nourish Spa Shampoo, EO Lavendar and Aloe Conditioner, Whole Foods 365 Citrus Conditioner. Before that I use to use Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-In, Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter, Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey.

You need a chleating shampoo. I'm sure someone with more experience will help you out soon.

Are you in the sun? The sun can bleach your hair over time. Also do you put honey in your conditioners? That also lightens your hair

My hair also turned brown when I used to relax it and sit out in the sun. Since I started transitioning, my hair color has been more stable though. I would suggest wearing hats or head coverings if you're going to be out in the sun for long periods of time.

nope, nothing wrong. When my hair was relaxed it was black, brown, red, and honey blonde . When I first starting transitoning my new growth was coming in jet black but now that Im 2 years in and using only natural products on my hair it's a mix between brownish/orange and black. I rarely spend time in the sun so I know the sun isn't causing the change in color. I also don't use honey in my hair. I guess your color is just changing.

Yes I am, but not for hours. No, I do not use honey for my hair. Thank you for your advice; I really appreciate it.

Thanks, hun. I will have to get me some hats for this winter.

You too!!!??? It is just so weird to see a orangish-brown tint to my hair in certain lighting, lol. I was so afaird that is was damage. That did not make much sense to me since I use mainly natural products as well and I do not apply heat to my hair. I am going to have to check out that chleating shampoo that Sweetypie was telling me about...
