Dad, Am I going to die?

Video story on the side.
Seems a Walgreens cashier stuck her foot in her mouth. The irrational fear over somethings is amazing...

Idiot cashier. Poor little boy for having that thought put into his head.

Well, this is what you get when you pay minimum wage.

What do people expect with all the hype the media has created? It's what they wanted.
Maybe if the Walgreens employees get people freaked out enough they'll purchase one of those flu shots Walgreens is advertising!!
Good marketing campaign.

Idiot cashier. If it was seasonal flu then a shot would have taken care of the risk; I got one. If it was H1N1 than the kid was at much higher risk than the cashier was.
I'm kind of freaking out because I think one of my coworkers has the flu but I don't know what kind, and he's a stubborn type who won't go to the doctor so we won't know if it's swine flu or not. He hasn't even read my message. I work in retail so we can't avoid exposure, but if this spreads we are so screwed. I heard one case of swine flu and we have to close the store.
I hope, hope, hope he has the regular flu because I'm vaccinated against that. I can't get a swine flu vaccine, there just aren't any around here.

bergasaurus, if it's actually influenza, there is only H1N1 out there right now - seasonal flu hasn't arrived yet. There are a ton of other viruses out there as well, but anyone with the flu now has H1N1. It's certainly possible to be exposed and not catch it... wash your hands a lot and try not to be coughed on. (I've seen a couple hundred cases and managed not to catch it)
Stupid cashier. Although the media is just as much to blame for terrifying people.

How can anyone walk around in public with the flu? I've always thought influenza pretty much confines you to bed because you're so sick (chills, body aches, fever, etc...).

Not true. My sister and her 4 month old child just recovered from a very bad flu which was not H1N1. It has been going around in various areas.

That's what I think. When someone has the real flu, they're not walking around in stores talking to people. They're flat-on-their-back in bed, sick as a dog. A lot of people think any-old-cold is the flu, and it's not. The cashier was dumb, but it doesn't sound like the kid actually had the flu.

Yeah...I wouldn't wish the flu on my worst enemy. I have only had it once in my life and I never want it again.

Unbelievable! That poor kid!
If she was going to worry about getting sick, a drugstore is a silly place to work!

My son tested positive for H1N1. His symptoms were headache, sore throat, fever, cough, and one bout of vomiting. I brought him in for a strep test, and got that instead. It did not flatten him.

I've been meaning to ask you how the kids are all doing. And did you get through without getting sick yourself?
