Our family was stationed at Ft. Hood for several years and we have friends and family still living in that immediate area (Killeen). My brother and numerous of our friends are on lock-down still and cannot leave work (which is on the military base) in order to go home.....so please keep everyone in your prayers! Such a horrible tragedy.

Unhappy So Sad

I just saw this on the news,Alot of fort Hood moved here over the summer. They are now preparing to give support to those who have ties to those who were hurt or worse from Hood.
I can say so much about this but I won`t due to emotions being high about this.I will say as a military wife I clearly see that our soldiers and their families need more mental and emotional resources to deal with the stress which is enormous of deployments etc.
My prayers go out to the families of the fallen, the injured and the man`s family who commited this horrible crime against his fellow soldiers.

+1 on the bolded statement. Some of these soldiers/soldiers families are hurting more than we (civilians) will ever know. My heart definitely goes out to all the families at Ft. Hood.

My statement may not be the most popular... but i'm going to make it anyway...

I just really hope this is a wake-up call for Obama to get on the ball and do what he has promised he was going to do. Bring the troops home, let them go home to their families.. let this end, don't let this happen again at another facility.

I can't imagine how tough it must be on someone mentally to keep having to go back to war... you come home, think you're done and then go back... It's not fair to the people who willingly sign up to fight for their country.

I just hope something good happens before another tragedy hits.

Default I grew up there

I grew up there and still have family in Copperas Cove (other side of Ft. Hood). Sadly this event brings back really bad memories when that man drove his truck through the Luby's in Killeen. My family doesn't go on base that much but it was my dad's bowling day. So he was stuck in the bowling alley all day.

As for us bringing the troops home - It ain't that easy but we need to keep praying.

My prayers go out to all the families touched by this tragedy.

The sad thing is you know people are going to use this as an excuse to discriminate against Muslims or people that they think "look or sound like" Muslims.

Texas isn't a war-zone. People will still be stationed in America, even if Obama pulls troops out of the Middle-East

It is a terrible tragedy and I'll keep the everyone there in my thoughts and prayers

I also agree...my political opinions aside, this was the work of an unbalanced person, who probably should not have been in the service anyway and who had been having problems long before this.

Anflan I agree too... and he had never been over there, so having to go over there over and over had nothing to do with this.
