White Flakes?
I started noticing white flakes around my hairline. I'm assuming it's product build up But I'm not sure what to buy as a low-poo. What am I looking for as far as ingredients/brands? Any help is appreciated, I'm just soo embarrassed by it

for starters you want to definitely avoid sulfates.
Some good drug store poo's are
Naked Naturals
Giovanni triple treat
maybe even Suave????
there are others, those are the few that come to mind.

I hit up CVS and got Naked Naturals. Just what I needed. I have great clumping today, one of my better hair days and NO FLAKES, I think I might do the poo 1x a week seeing as I got on fine for like 2 weeks with just cowashing. Thanks again!

FLAKES
If you tolerate oils, you can rub some coconut oil on the area before shampooing. Also Mastey Traite is a super moisturizing shampoo with no sulfates/parabens that helps with that. It's a bit on the pricey side unfortunately.

I've read that sometimes certain combinations of products can cause white flakes or globs.

Am I being naiive in saying that it may be the CG method?? I find myself, that I'm having to actually scrub my scalp really well in order to clean it (whereas using sulfates I didn't really have to get in there and clean my hair/scalp really deeply-- the detergents did it for me!)... sometimes the increased friction/scrubbing may be causing the white flakes to slough off and deposit through your hair?? Like you said, may be product build up on your scalp etc
In which case I'm sure it will go away, have you tried an ACV rinse? That apparently treats dandruff (that may not be technically what you have though) but it also can be used to remove build up

I'm assuming it was product build up and too much oil from cowashing because it is all gone now and I use naked naturals everyday actually. I started using the icequeen method and my hair is WOAH haha
