Default Help, did hormone test, need to reduce parabens:

Did a hormone test and I have excessive progesterone that is caused by parabens. Can anyone reccommend products (hair, bath makeup) that have no parabens????

Topically applied parabens affect progesterone???

ALl I have known to date is that if you use progesterone cream, its best to use one that is paraben free....

Default hormone testing

Doc says my levels are high and it is due to using too many cosmetics with parabens, unless i am mistaken about the hormone that is elevated because of the parabens????

I need to start reducing the parabens I use is basically what he said.

Im only 37 but have some hormone imbalances due to a surgery i had when i was 29 : (.

Was it an MD type of doctor who diagnosed you? What type of "test" did he do?

Default Hormones

It was a GYN that is an expert in Bio-Identical Hormones. They did a test to see the level of my hormones. Then according to the test he prescribes what you need.

A good place to start would be the "natural and organic" page on Sephora's website. You will still need to read the ingredients but chances are, what you find there will be paraben free. I say "chances are" because Sephora says the brands listed don't contain at least 6 out of 8 specific ingredients. Parabens are one of those ingredients.

for a great moisturizure, face wash and under-eye creams without parabens check out caudalie its a great line from france that is made from the left overs of the grapes after wine is made out of them. Grapes are full of antioxidents and are great for getting rid of wrinkles and tonifying the skin.

Question

I think Liz Earle products are Paraben free or at least low paraben - although best check that out.

Aubrey Organics, Neal's Yard are too I think. Cosmetics wise I believe Dr. hauschka makeup is good but expensive!

There is a running debate about parabens in products BUT nothing has been proven *yet* to my knowledge. Most Organic & natural sites will go by this theory (parabens cause cancer etc) but medically I'm not sure if there are any proper studies been done. I'm not saying your Dr. is wrong it's just there are not that many medical bodies that agree with this.

Personally I try to avoid parabens and have been keeping an eye on this issue for some time now. I'd love to know more about what your Dr. said.
