Soooo exciting...congrats! DS and DIL just bought their first house this week, too. They're supposed to close by the end of the month. I hope it goes as smoothly as yours did!

Thanks so much everyone!!! It still feels so unreal

After years on the ship and living out of a suitcase, moving across country and back for a job, just seems so strange to know I'm going to be in one place for awhile!

These are just the real estate photos, I'll get some more up once I have stuff in there!

I've always said I wanted to own my own home by the time I was 30....I turned 30 in April...so pretty close

Lots of favorite parts, but the thing that I LOVE is the banister. You can't really see it in those pics, but its sort of heavy like it was in my Grandparents old house growing up. The spindles are painted a cream, and the top is a steely grey/black. Colours I never would have pictured togeather, but it looks really sharp. I had looked at this house awhile ago and kept thinking about that bannister and how I wanted to try that in the house I wound up in

Thanks again everyone

CC...is this the place that has those lovely eggplant rooms?
The fave thing I love about our house is the bannister, as well, but it's an itch to dust!

This is the one

I was out for dinner with friends last night and one of the guys said he was an "expert" painter and will take care of those rooms for a case of beer!

love the kitchen
love the floors
love the banisters

I really like the open DR/LR with good wall size for furniture arrangements.
