Wow, that is crazy uncalled for. She has been suspended indefinitely from the team.

I think she plays too rough, but I also think there's extra disapproval toward women who are violent, and she's paying for that. How much scrutiny would a male soccer player get for similar behavior?

However, I sure as h. wouldn't want to play against her.

that's what my husband said last night after telling me about this (and he did play soccer and still follows it, so i'm guessing he's already seen similar behavior in the men).

Thumbs down

Wow, soccer sure has changed since I played. You are not supposed to use your hands at all. I cannot believe there was only 1 yellow card thrown that whole time. Not even her team mates reacted..
She should be suspended forever...of course, hopefully indefinitely means that in this case..
Thankfully no one got hurt & they lost, as well..lol

WoW!!! Are you serious...Yes soccer can get a little physical but that was ridiculous...it didn't even look like 95% of those were accidents...normally they make it look like "oops, didn't mean that..." even if they most definitely did...LoL...I wonder if she is on steroids...because that is the only thing I can think of that would definitely make her that aggressive...

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but if I saw man acting like that I'd post it here, too.

Fair enough, SC. I didn't mean to call you out for posting it; my comment was meant toward ESPN.

of course, but i think the problem is that wouldn't have even been news on espn, you know? i think some have just found it a bit annoying that the longest segment they've done on women's ncaa soccer has to do with something negative rather than positive. but i suppose that's what they think we want to see, right? not that i really watch espn anyway though, LOL.

Good point, LC. It bugs me how little coverage women's sports receive, unless it's about a superstar.

Are they still covering women's college basketball?

I just checked; the WNBA is still being broadcast on ESPN, too.

Good.

This chick it nuts. I use to play soccer and basketball and I'll admit I liked to let the other ladies know that I was the one they didn't want to run into but she took it way to far.
