I got my hair cut!! Photos

My hair has been annoying me to no end lately. It was looking lank and too long. I strayed from my normal stylist (Fringe). I had been checking out deva trained stylists that were more local. I had yesterday off and on a whim called the salon I had been thinking about - lo and behold one of the deva trained stylist had a cancellation so I was able to get in within the hour!! I really liked her - she got what I was saying about needing to go shorter and add in some layers. With my fine hair I know John @ Fringe was trying to not have me look to thin so he was not putting in many layers but without some I was looking very flat. We talked, she checked my hair out and we agreed to cut it wet.
She put in layers all over but not drastic ones. Because I love it when a 'professional' blows out my hair I asked her to do that. She also put some angle in on the sides. It looked really shiny and stylish after she was done.
Today I have washed, conditioned, gelled and diffused for a bit. I already feel that I have more curl all over rather than just on the ends due to the layering. It is not dry yet but so far I really like that I look like I have more of a style.
When I get a chance I will update with some photos.
I am sure I will go back to her-she was fun and only about 45 minutes away instead of almost 2 hours away (as long as nothing horrible happens with this cut).

XC your cut sounds great! Good move to get more layers. Did your stylist blow it out straight for you? Is that that why it was cut wet, so you could wear it straight or curly?

I may PM you for details. I don't know if I'm ready to "stray" yet, but I am starting to line up my options for if/when I do.....

Can you share who/where? I live in western MA and if it's anywhere nearby, I would love to try them.
I signed up instead of lurking just to ask this!

Thought I would update my hair day. I really really like the cut! It's layered all over with some angled bangs/sides. For the first day after a pretty drastic cut it went well. I love that my curls are all over because of the layers instead of just on the 2nd half of my hair.
chloe- it was Moodz in Acton and I saw Jen. I will post a review for the salon as well.
hipchick-I had her blow it out. All my haircuts can be worn curly or straight but because I am so inept at using a blow dryer I never style my hair straight so I do like it for a change when I get my hair cut to have the stylist do it just for a change for the day.

I need pix, hair twin! I am getting mine cut by StruttsWife tomorrow, at my house! I'm hosting the 2-day-salon-visit.
Did you go shorter? What's your length now? I'm planning to cut a few inches off.

Whoa, I've been to that salon! It was one of the (non-curly) stylists there who first helped me to go wavy, introducing me to using styling products and air drying. I researched Jen recently because she was on the Deva website, but I was scared away because she has totally straightened hair. I guess now I know not to fear?

I would say I had 3-4 inches cut off. It's about an inch below my ears on the side when dry. It is angled down from the front to the sides and I would say just hitting a collar if you had a shirt with a collar on it in the back. I probably will not have pics up before you get your hair cut though twin!!!

I always worry when recommending a stylist. But I felt she was very good at understanding what I wanted and a talented stylist. I will probably say something that curlies here may disagree with but with my hair type (so fine & thin without a strong curl pattern) I sometimes think it easier to cut wet. I had no issue when she suggested that. I think with your hair type & curl she could do it dry or wet.
You could go for a consult to see how you feel too. There is another stylist there too that is deva trained.

I knew there was a reason to log on during my lunch break. I think it looks great! I'll have to do a side-by-side with the last haircut photos, when I have more time. But I really like it. You're happy with it, right?

Yeah, check out my older photos and let me know what you think. I am happy with it. To be honest it's a bit flakey right now due to the newness of the cut. Even though it may not look it - she probably took off 3-4 inches.
I am getting curl all over now due to the layers which to me makes it feel/look more uniform. And I have more lift at the roots because the layers. With my type hair-the curling (and almost ringlet curls) just at the end mostly was distracting me.
