Plopping*a new way*
I have fairly short curly hair, but it takes forever to dry. Simply scrunching out water wont do enough. So i plop, but plopping gives my way to thick 3b-c short hair way too much volume, stringy curls, and the back gets flatten. I decided to plop backwards.
I lay the pillow cover on toliet seat and face my back to the toilet.
Then i bend over backwrds like your doing a bridge.
After that i pull up the sides like a regular plop.
When i took it off 30 min later, it actually like presentable to wear done, which i never do because of the whole stringy huge hair thing. This plopping method has fixed that

yikes!
It's a good thing I don't have short hair because I would most likely seriously hurt myself trying to bend over backwards! haha

I guess you could place the towel on a higher surface like a kitchen bench? Might make things easier

This sounds like a very effective way to plop, but I think I would have some serious back malfunctions, lol. I do think it's a good idea to put it on a higher surface. Thanks for the tip

Ooh, this is a good idea - dangit, I have no raised surfaces in the shower room at my dorm this year! I now plop by just bending over with no help from a counter or whatever, and I don't think I could do that properly backwards.

How interesting! Thanks for the tip! My hair is rather long, but I'm willing to try this method because after plopping my hair around the neck is stringy and flat. I wonder how this will turn out. Thank you

Ain't that the truth? I could see myself ending up in traction after pulling my back out and/or losing my balance and falling and knocking myself out with a busted head from hitting the toilet. It's a good idea, though, if you can do it.

soooo...rather than bending backwards to put your head on the plopping device of your choice, wouldn't it be easier (if you want to try this method) to lay the towel on the ground (or bed, even), then lay down on the towel and do everthing else the way she described to get the same effect. Do you think that would work?
