Default Question about spritz and condish

SouthernMoss drew my attention to the spritz and condish method for curly heads. Let me see if I have this right:

(1) Spray down hair with spray bottle.
(2) Work in rinse out conditioner (for me that would be KM Luxury.Rinse)
(3) Get in shower, scrub scalp, scrunch upside down if your hair likes it, add a little extra condish if your ends need it, low-poo if it's a low-poo day, rinse.
(4) Style.

My question is what happens to the co-wash? Do you just use your regular rinse out? Anyone else using spritz and condish? I am confused like a fox.

Actually, I just read about this technique today, so it wouldn't have been me that brought it to your attention. I am definitely intrigued by it, though.

I've only made it through the first two or three pages of the thread, but I think Del said that as part of step 1 she scrubs her scalp with the rinse out condish. She also mentioned that she does a low poo with this technique. If I have read it correctly, she doesn't use a separate co-wash.

Here's the thread: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlta...ad.php?t=89299

I've done this a few times and like it so far. Here is how I understood the thread. (I may be wrong)

Step 3. On days when you cowash, step into the shower with the rinse out on your head. Add cowash to your finger tips and scrub scalp. Rinse out both conditioners.

This is how curlyjenn does it but I do it pretty much the way GeorgeGlass describes with one conditioner. I usually scrub my scalp with Low Poo each wash. It's easier for me with one condish and I don't like any of the Suaves or Vo5's for co-washing anyway. I imagine there will be lots of modifications to the Spritz & Condish and that's fine! Do what works for you and play around with it!

Default Holy cats, I have waves now!

So, on a whim, this morning I decided to try the Del's spritz and condish. I sprayed down my hair until it was just barely damp, gently, gently combed it, then combed through around 1 1/2 tbsp of my regular condish. I then got on with some work for around 40 minutes, jumped in the shower, quickly wet down my head and co-washed. I rinsed upside down and Icequeened in the merest dab of conditioner just to get the clumps going.

Got on with rest of shower, rinsed upside down and applied a generous amount of a cheapie gel (V05 Mega Hold) while still drippingly wet in the shower. I plopped in a microfibre towel for around 15 minutes, then let it air dry. I just SOTCed with a little Easy.Rider and WHOA! I have volume, definite waves, and my hair feels soft. The downside is that it's still not very shiny and a little frizzy (but I think I might have SOTCed before my hair was completely dry), in a way that makes me long for the silicone-based anti-frizz serums of my past.

But still, you guys are all the best! I feel like I'm finally making progress. It's just a shame that I decided to work from home today...

That's awesome, GG!!

I did a variation on this last night. It was time for my weekly PT, which I always follow with a DT. This time, though, after finishing the PT, I blotted my hair thoroughly with a flour-sack towel before applying the DT. It really made a difference in how much DT my hair was able to take up.
