Any reviews on the phyto products (the defrissant, the phytolisse) for heat styling and heat protection ?
TIA

This is FABULOUS stuff!!
When I used to straighten this was my go to for poker straight hair that lasts! The defrissant is what I'm referring to. It's a balm that's non greasy and relatively light that relaxes the hair to ease straightening and markedly reduce frizz. This product also allows your hair to withstand humidity. Back in the day if I had surface frizz I'd apply a tad and blowdry my roots down and I was golden. The straightening effect is of course, reversed with washing out the product. It's worth the money if a great sleek look is your goal IMO.

Thanks for your reply naturalista.
Does the phytodefrisant also protect the hair from heat damage ? Is it also a heat protectant, or did you have to use an additional product for heat protection ?

Nothing totally protects from heat damage. It can lessen the effects but not eliminate it totally. The defrissant is a straightening aid and not a heat protectant. Back in the day I used it to perfect my blow out and then added Redken heat glide before I flat-ironed.

Ok, thanks, so if I'm using a flat iron only, without a blow drier, would you say I should apply the defrisant first, and afterwards the heat protectant on top of it, or the other way round ?
And should I start straightening immediately after applying the products or wait for a while to give them time to absorb/dry before flat ironing ?

I just got the Phyto Defrisant at sephora and it's okay...
Nothing spectacular. It did make blow drying easier, but it didn't get my hair any straighter than it would be if i used paul mitchell's Smoothing balm. I found the phyto to be a bit greasy also. as for non frizzing, my hair is VERY VERY frizz-prone and also very very thick, i'm talking textures from 3B to 4B
all in all it's decent, but i would reccomend buying the sample size for 12 bucks at sephora then seeing if you like it or not.
 hope this helped!

Does this mean if I straighten my hair I need to use a smoothing de-frizzer aswell as a heat protector? Should I apply the smoother before straightening? Thanks, am just surfing through the forums to try and find some good recommendations on hair styling.

It makes it easier to straighten. That's why I use Phyto so that I can strighten without using so much heat.
Put it on after you washed your hair and let dry. Then use your heat protector beofre you flat iron.
