Anyone seen this blog on BKT's?

Really interesting blog article from Dr. Ali Syed, the chemist over at Avlon. He tested several BKT brands

New Revelation concerning Keratin Treatments

Be sure to read through the comments to see the brands he tested and their formaldehyde levels.

Many of the reputable companies do not use formladehyde for straightening hair. Just a handful of new companies have sprung up in last few years and it all started from Brazil. Now these products have been banned in Brazil by the ENVISA which is equivalent of US FDA.
Shades of Rio, which was also banned in Brazil.

a few times and I feel overwhelmed and confused. On one end Dr. Sayed seems to know what he's talking about, but then is pushing Keracare products and relaxers on the people asking about Kertin treatments. Seems like he has an agenda to me.

Corporations and corporate thinking can be that unscrupulous. After all, BKTs will affect their bottom line.

That said, I still don't recommend being casual about it. People might want to be conservative about usage and selective. JMHO
Since the BKT has only been on the market in the US for three years, how safe it really is can't be known. That sho didn't stop me from doing mine, but just so you know. You won't find the true answer to your question, at least not for a few more years.
