graduation is not nice to curly hair

I'll be graduating from college in less than a week and I wanted to wear my hair curly for the ceremony. But putting that cap on my 3C hair wasn't the most flattering look. Those caps the way they are made are not flattering for people with curly hair. It pushed my hair down and the resulting curly hair trying to break through underneath is so not the kinds of pictures I want to take on that day.
So I know I am battling with either straightening my hair for the big day or possibly experimenting and setting my hair into a looser curl. Ever since I saw a post by Athena's Owl I've been dying to try it out! With finals coming up though I'll probably opt for old faithful.
Wish me luck!
I am a 3c reformed product junkie thanks to the economy.

I lurk a lot, I change my hair color a lot. It's currently black and bsl when wet and beyond my shoulders still when dry.

Now I will stop procrastinating and get back to what I was supposed to be doing before I got on here.

Any questions?
i don't know how long your hair is, but i saw a lot of curlies wearing their hair in side ponytails for graduation this past May/June. i think it could be a cute look if you don't have time to do a lengthier process.

but ITA, those caps only seem to flatter straight-hair or loose curls...

i stick with the description "OS thready thick"

my curly fro now is at collarbone when straightened.... basically the length i had when i started transitioning! hooray for growth!!! =)
hmmm? a side ponytail? that's something to think about. currently my hair is just above the shoulder when its completely dry.
