How do you straighten YOUR hair??
I'm a 3C and I was just wondering some ways everyone straightens their own hair.
I like my hair flowy and not greasy, but shiny. Oh and I also like a soft feel. So the way I straighten my hair is like if I went to a Dominican salon. (The blowout: Blow drying and then flat iron) If you do the same I would also appreciate tips on how you blow out your hair.

I don't have the patience to blow dry my 3c hair so I roller set it with large rollers. It only takes 30 minutes under the dryer and then I flat iron to get it totally straight.

After washing, add product, I take small sections at a time and use a large round brush with my dryer on med. Not high. Then I use a paddle brush and run the dryer thru those sections. The paddle brush makes it soft. I rarely ever use a flat iron. I might use it on my bangs if I have to.

When I used to straighten mine, I would shampoo, condition and then put it up for the day with just straightened bangs. The next day I would flat iron it little section, by little section.
I have shoulder length 3b/c hair and I got the flat ironing down to about 20 minutes!

My texture is 3a/b but my stylist specializes in textured hair- most of her clients are 3c or 4. She told me not to bother blowing it out first before flat ironing, but instead just to flat iron right over the curls. She was right- it's so much easier- so much less hair to contend with plus a major time saver. I just put in a ton of argan oil and my regular leave in and air dry. Then I flat iron before bed and in the morning take a curling iron and curl some random layers so it doesn't have to look perfect and gets some body back.

Let us know how you like it! It's also so much less damaging, too.

I did Brazilian blow dry at hairdressers Ealing. Now I have got really straightened hair. I suppose it’s not harmful, because they use natural sources of keratin. And i should say that hair became enough shiny and silky

I shampoo and condition my hair that night. Then, put my hair in a ponytail and go to sleep. Then, I wake up and straighten my hair.
The process:
I put in a little bit of chi silk infusion, then I spray in some chi heat protectant.
I divide my hair in 3-4 sections starting from the bottom to the top. I straighten from bottom, up.
Takes about 20-30 minutes, depending how straight I want it.

Ok, this seems to work for me----->
I actually straighten my hair in layers. I start from the bottom layer, then work my way to the top. I take a clip, then pin up all of my hair, except for a small part on the bottom. Then I spray ion straightening solution on my hair, and that's it. I really love the ion spray. It leaves my hair silky and smooth, the only problem is the smell. But, anyway, it's paraben free, so my hair loves it(:

I don't blow-dry mine before straightening either. It doesn't make much of a difference. What brand of argan oil do you get? Is it pure or mixed with silicones?
Out of curiosity, how much did you pay?
I straighten in layers too. It's so much easier that way. I've been wanting to try the Ion spray. Have you tried any other of Ion's heat styling solutions?

For those whose blow-dry it first, do you all start blow-drying and using round brush from teh minute you blot it dry??? I've heard lately to wait to start using any brush on the hair until it's 80% dry to lower breakage amount. But . . . . if I wait until then, my cowlicks form and it's much tougher to get it straighten. Any thoughts on that?? When I straighten my bang I always start round brushing it/blow dry when it's still very damp.
