after you have this done, what does your hair look like if you just air dry it with no flat iron or blow dryer?

Can anyone who has used Soft-liss tell me if they left the treatment on for only the hour or if they left it on longer?
I am about to do my first treatment and am unsure if I should maybe leave it on longer than the hour.

I've been thinking about having this done for about half a year now... but I can't seem to find a salon and I don't know what it will do to my hair.

Anyone's who's had it done, does it make your hair feel any thicker or thinner? Because I have really thin hair and I can't afford to have any less.

Next, does anyone know if the Smart Style Family Hair salon offers the treatment? (the salons in wal*mart) Sad, I know, but I doubt my mom will drive me 2 hours to have this done...

Lastly, how should I go about asking my mom? It sounds strange, I know, but I've never had anything done to my hair before, and I don't ever really ask for stuff, so I don't know what I'm doing.
Well, thanks in advance!

Hello my lovelies, in need of a bit of advice please

I'm a 30 year old male with 6 inches of kinky 3b frizz
I've had my hair relaxed a few months ago, the results were a little too straight for my liking

anyhow, i've a bit dubious about using this with such short hair as you wont be able to get the tongs on the roots to seal in the product (what does everyone else do about this)

also, i dont want to go super straight, i'm looking to relax the tight kinks

is this the right product for me?

thanks girls!

Thumbs up Keratin Treatment is Fantastic!!

I just had this done and the results are fantastic. I have 3b hair that doubles in size during the humid NC summer. My stylist (Anson/Howard Jacobs Salon in Raleigh) recommended the treatment and offered me a price I couldn't refuse. My hair is now straight and silky (good amount of body too). I'm thoroughly impressed. Straightening has come such a long way - this treatment proves it. If you can't come to Raleigh be sure to research your stylist - a good stylist is everything.

I also go to Anson at Howard Jacobs. I had the treatment done last week and absolutely love it!!! When I got there I told Anson how nervous I was and he looked at me and smiled and said don't worry you'll love it...and he was right!!!

I found out about Anson here and am so glad I did. And I'm also glad I tried the Keratin Treatment....It really has changed my attitude toward my hair!!!!

Default Bio Ionic Kerasmooth Anti-Frizz Treatment

hello all:

I am researching this issue myself and thought I would post my experience with the Bio Ionic Kerasmooth. I had not straightened my hair for about a year and half and had been gradually cutting the relaxed part off. The back of my head was completely relaxed free, but the top part of my head had some relaxer on it. I was on this website where someone recommended the Kerasmooth. I found it online ordered it and bought it. They have a virgin hair formula and a chemically processed hair formula. I got the one for virgin hair. The process was easy, I did it myself and the results were fabulous. The only thing is- I was under the impression it was not permanent and would gradually wash out. That has not been my experience, it has been almost 12 weeks already and my hair is still super straight. In fact its straighter than when I used to relax my hair. I am getting new growth and I fear I will have to start from scratch. If anyone has any experience please let me know if it washed out for you, because it is not "washing out" for me. I have washed my hair more frequently then I normally would, 3-4 times a week, hoping it would wash out and nothing. I am hoping it still washes out, but as the weeks go by and my hair remains straight, I suspect i will have to start growing out my hair from the beginning again.

Personally, as badly as I want it done, I just cannot justify the cost of flying somewhere to have it done, as well as the cost of the BKT itself. I live in Houston, and have done loads of research to find a place that does BKTs, but no luck.

And yes, the worse your hair is damaged, the better it is with the BKT.

Default some products

rejuvenol shampoo and conditioner is sold on folica.com for $18 bucks a pop. 8 ounces. each bottle. The shampoo does have sulfates, so if you are looking for sulfate free stay away. Stay away from Any shampoo/conditioner with salt.

I also stay away with anything with citric acid....just because....lol

folica.com in fact has a few choices for BKT shampoos and such. Good luck!

I had this done August 2009. I had thermal reconditioning done in 2002, and had grown it completely out by 2007. I wanted to try this to reduce frizz and because of the fact it fades off. Well, it's August 2010 and it still hasn't worn off. I got the new growth done twice, and now I'm starting the grow out process all over again. My hair is straighter than it was with TR. I would've never done it if I thought it wouldn't wear off. Don't get me wrong, I like the results. I'm just dreading growing it out... Good luck!

Thanks for posting your experience and it seems it was identical to mine. I agree I like the results, it just wasn't what I bargained for you know? I just wanted something to tame my curls a bit not straighten. Oh well it is what it is. good luck!

Default Oh man..so sorry aj005

What made you decide to do this treatment? I know it's cheap to do yourself, but with so few reviews online I woul dhave been scared. It seems this a relatively new system. There was the bio ionic( permanent) which some people have been doing for years, and then this newer version which is the one that is supposed to be temporary.

I had a BKT applied to my hair in June. This one was called Donna Bella Perla( trust me I was pissed because I had research Marcia T. and that's what I thought I was going to get at this salon). Anyway, I did it because that's what she had and I was already in teh salon chair and had already taken the morning off from work. Long story short..she applied it to my hair while it was soaking wet( never heard of a BKT being applied this way) and the fumes were KILLER. This BKT is def not washing out either. My roots and edges were NAPPY after about 3 weeks..I think it was a mix of new growth and just teh treatment wearing off...I know my hair didn't grow 3 inches in three weeks! lol..Today my roots are a lot thicker and kinkier than the rest of my hair...some sections ( the section sof my hair that is naturally 3b/3c) are basically straight...and it's been 3 months!

The moral of the story, i think, is to stay away from products with few reviews. I have BKTd over this one( at home), because my hair is definately curling more than it was, but nowhere near it's natural texture. I'm not too bummed because I am able to wear it curly and my hair is still so soft, but the two textures is annoying. Next week I plan to do a QOD max BKT on my roots to help with that issue. Anyway, chin up! Our hair is always changing/growing/readjusting itself. You'll be back to where you want to be in no time!

I just wanted to town down the volume on my hair. that's why I did it. Also, the back of my head/was completely relaxer free, but the ends on the front of my hair still had relaxer and it was hard to either wear it curly, or get it straight.

I have since learned from my mistake I think. I bought the Kerasmooth for chemically processed hair and apply this product they sell called IonFixx which you spray and put on before you put the Kerasmooth on. I have used it once before and the product did in fact "wash out" in about 9 weeks. I think if I had done it this way the first time, I would have gotten different results. I am still growing out my hair, so we shall see.

Default Keratin treatment in Montreal

Hi,
Just to help people in Montreal who are looking for a keratin treatment certified hairdresser, here's my stylist's number 5149630851 or Welcome to bellechevelure.ca
I've tried many places and she's the best. She's very kind and knows what she's doing. I've already done the BKT several times and I'm trilled each time.
