What's you routine before using a flat iron
I normally wash, blow dry, spray the heat sealent and straight iron it.
But its so humid tht my hair is all over the place. What can I use in order to tame down the frizz and also impart shine and moisture before I straight iron it so that it wont look so frizzy and dry? thanks.

I have the T3 Wet to Dry Flat Iron, so I skip the blow dryer. I apply leave in conditioner and then I let it air dry for a little while (maybe 15-30 minutes). They I apply some type of straightening product (like a serum or balm). I am ashamed to say that I have never used a heat protectatnt, but I plan to start. Then I use my flat iron on very small sections, which takes hours, but its the only way to ensure no frizz.
To answer your question, I reccomend using very moisturizing products. You Leave-In should and your heat protectant should do the trick if you have normal hair. If you have dry hair, you may need to use a little oil too.
Also, have you heard of Sabino Moisture Block. Ive been hearing good things about it. It is supposed to fight frizz. I just received my free samples in the mail but I havent tried it yet. I hope this helps.

hi. i have been having good luck with redkin smooth down heat glide, with a bit of chi silk infusion. 3 pumps of the redkin with 1 or 2 drops of the chi on wet hair , blow dry. then 1 more pump of redkin smooth down on dry hair and flat iron. my hair stays silky smooth, with just a bit of wave by the end of the day if it is really humid.spray heat protectents, to me , make my hair dry and fuzzy.

My hair gets really dry after washing and blow-drying. I think I am going to skip the blow-drying and just let it air dry. So I think I need a good leave-in conditioner and a good serum that will smooth it down and provide shine and finally a heat protectant. The Redken heat glide sounds good.
Miss Kinkycoily - the moisture block also sounds great. Where can I get the free samples to try out?
Also, has anyone tried the new Nexxus Sleek memory? It is a serum that also provides heat protectant.
Are the Redken and Chi products available at Sally's or Ulta? Thanks.
R.

OOO! Redken makes a great smooth down product. I do have to agree with you there. They have a great butter cream that makes my hair sooooo soft and helps for making it straight. I just use straightener shampoo from Redken, or Matrix Sleek Works and Conditioner for straightening from either one of those names and then add the smoothing cream or the Redken smooth down and then blow dry and flat brush...after 15-20 minutes of that my hair is dry and then take another 15-20 to use a big barrel curling iron to make it mostly smooth with a little curl.

No, Redken is a Salon Professional product only. You can find that in salons and at CVS. Good luck!

For a fast response, you just call Sabino's contact no. 1-888-305-4247 and you just let the representative know that you are interested in sampling this product and can they send you out a sample.
Also, check out this thread: Sabino Moisture block

hi. the rite aid in our city does sells redken (it is separate from the other products)they also sell other salon professonal products. i know your supposed to only buy them at the salon, but it is more convenient, and it is the same product so i usually get it there.the only thing is that they dont have the full line of products so what you want may not be there.
i am a esthetician ,and as with buying skin care at"non proffesional sites," you just need to be careful. the reason for not buying at a rite aid or kroger... is the company(redken, for example) cannot promise the product has not been watered down, isnt old.... i have not had any problems with our rite aid,but im sure all stores are different.more and more places are now selling salon items so i dont think it is a problem as it may have been before. good luck.

Good they took down the post. Previously there was a spammer here selling World of Warcraft game things. It was really out of wack! I reported the spammer so they must of gotten rid of the post.

well i'm very lazy, so i usually just cowash the night before and slick my hair back into a bun. then i wake up and flat iron. i slide a boar bristle brush right before the flat iron that way my hair comes out literally relaxer straight without having to blowdry/cause extra heat damage
