Has anyone checked out this infomercial, and tried this thing out? I"m very tempted.

I just saw the infomercial the other day and it looks good. I called to find out what the cylinder is made of and they said it's a brushed aluminum and it has a little roughness (but not a lot), which is what causes the hair to shine.
I'm curious too about it but I am waiting for my shipment for the KStyler which looked really good with the floating plates for flexibility and even heating.

I'm going to try the KStyler for the trial basis and then order the InStyler for a trial and see which one is better. At least with the Instyler you get two.
I tried looking for reviews and can't seem to find any. It's pretty brand new.

ahhh, i have a coroliss and it doesnt even work!!! i was also wondering if any of you guys no wat is a healthy temperature for a flat iron to heat up to

I haven't ordered yet, I did see the kstyler as well and I tried to research that one online as well, I don't know, I'm just skeptical on putting more money out on another product.

Having hideously curly red hair (frizzy!!!), I have tried it all so I was really skeptical when I saw the informercial. I've seen that stuff before. But I broke down and tried it, not expecting much, but was I surprised. It smoothed my hair and made it really shiny and no frizzies at all. What an amazing tool!!!!!!! I loved it!!!!!!!! So I would definitely recommend it if you are thinking of trying it - for curly hair, it was well worth the price because it also took about half the time to do my hair. I'm in love with it.:blob7:

Wow, so you purchased, and it worked for you, that's what my question has been, does it really smooth and straighten like the infomercial and the website advertise...did you have to do anything special when prepping to use it or did you go through your regular straigtening routine and then use the tool?

Having such curly, curly hair, I have gotten used to always putting product on it to keep it tame becuz it likes to fly-away, so it was weird not putting any product on it before using the Instyler but I wanted to do it right and it says not to use product on your hair. So I put it on the highest setting (pretty high but not as high as a flat iron, I don't think) and ran it through my hair like it shows in the instructions, and guess what - it straightened it right up. I have never seen my hair so straight. It was really weird, like someone else's hair. So... I know it's a pricey item but if it does this to my hair, I would pay almost any price. For me, it was worth it.

that happens to me too. just take a bath instead of a shower. and wrap 2 scarves around your hair at once. u could also put a bonnet, plus shower cap over the scarves for ultimate protection.

omg... you know what I've been doing to keep it from kinking up in the shower? I put a plastic shower cap on then I put this old USC beany over the top and pull it really down low to absorb the moisture around my face so it won't make it to my hair. Isn't that crazy? But it works. Anyway, the INstyler has just been a god-send for my hair. I'm honestly not as scared as my hair kinking up as I used to be because I just run the instyler through it and it straightens it just fine. I just love it.

I think I just read something yesterday that said 370-375 degrees is the top end for heat before you actually change the structure of the hair shaft. (Cause damage)

I saw the infomercial for the first time the other day. I was really interested even though I don't straighten my hair. I was pretty amazed by what I saw, but wondered if it was for real so I'm happy to read a review by someone who actually owns it.

Now I'm wondering what does it cost?

me and my friend were watching the infomercial, and it seemed like they were not getting the roots of the girls hair. if i tried to not get the roots with my hair, itd be a poofy mess. wen u use it on the root, would u say it is easier to burn your scalp than with regular straightners?

I broke down and ordered it, I'm just waiting for it to arrived, I'm really excited to see how it's going to work.

So it does state, no product when you use it. I don't know if I'll be able to do it, I'll try it, but I feel skeptical using no product on my hair when straightening.

Mom, I am a product whore. I use several different products just to get the results I want. It's crazy. So it was really hard for me to not use product when I used this, but I'm glad I followed the instructions because it worked. There are two things I learned about this - 1: Move it through your hair slowly or you won't get the result you want. 2: Don't touch the rotating end! It will burn! And definitely read the instructions that come with it. I had to practice a bit before I finally got what I wanted, but it was worth it. I hope you have good luck also and remember - no product of any kind in your hair! That was a hard lesson for me to learn! Let me know when you try it cuz I want to know what you think.

Received it in the mail yesterday. I haven't used it yet, I don't know how I'm fighting the urge. I'm trying to wait until I know I have ample time to play. I'm willing to follow the instructions and go sans product..so we will see...

Tried it out yesterday for work, and it was really nice. It did make my styling faster, and I liked the styling. B/c of my length I didn't get as much of the bump as I wanted on the ends, but it did straighten nicely and my hair was smooth and shiny. *Confession* I did use a little product on my hair, I used some of my John Frieda Weatherworks, and I used some of my Nexxus Memory Sleek before actually blow drying. But that was it, I didn't see where it affected the instyler. So far it looks as if it's a good purchase.

All right, mom!! You go, girl!! Just keep using it - you'll like it better with practice. Like anything else, it just takes a little practice. I'm so glad you tried it!! And hey, if you used product, that's okay I"m sure - as long as it didn't affect your end results. I'm glad you liked it!!! Next time, try it without product and see what happens.....

I've been so happy with this tool for the last 2 weeks, my hair has been shiny, bouncy, it's had volume, I'm really believing this was a good investment. I appreciate your comments and input, it was enough to help me make a decision on purchasing, and it turned out to be a good buy so far.
