Do it yourself - Brazilian, BKT, QOD

I had the Coppola Treatment (Feb 10) and a Marcia Teixeira in Oct 09; which was my 1st treatment. I have very kinky-curly hair; 4b, very tightly coiled hair and had cut out all my relaxer in 2007 and got another one in Aug '08. Although I did wear micros for over a year, I had great success with both BKTs. The 1st one did wonders but the 2nd one was jackpot. I just purchased the QOD from eBay last month and I'm very excited to DIY this time. The 1st treatment was over $300 and it didnt look like it took very well and I couldnt wait to shampoo my hair and try it myself; which did well. The 2nd treatment I had done at Ulta - TX and it was sale for $185. Awesome experience. I even have a lil highlights. I think you will enjoy this experience even if you have a relaxer. Very conditioning. I have used the maxiglide, the herstyler and the Babybliss flat irons.
i'm really excited. i had a free consultation at a high end salon and she told me step by step what the coppola keratin treatment entails. sneaky me thought lemme just do it myself if it's available and cheaper. basically strip the hair, dry completely, apply 1 ounce to first section like color, see how it absorbs and depending on that add more/ keep it, blow dry again thoroughly, flat iron small sections and leave in for a 3 days.

smoothgirl did you like the qod max??
Naturally soft but dull, mixed porosity, doesn't like heavy protein, but does like heavy oil and butters.

Currently only use a sudsy shampoo 3x a week
Homemade oil blend
Kevin murphy motion lotion (need something else)
That sounds about right. Depending on your texture and how straight you want your hair to come out, you may want to leave it on your hair longer and use more than one ounce. I did my coppolla at home myself. I will never get this treatment done at a salon again. It's too easy! Make sure you do it near an open window with the fan on, though. the coppolla fumes aren't too bad, but still..my throat and eyes were burning. I also don't use gloves when I put it on, I want to feel that the product is on my hair, but that's just me!
