Default Milk of magnesia/ baking soda texturizer

I mixed milk of magnesia and baking soda together. I twisted my hair and applied the mixture and left it on for abot 6-7 hrs. It worked way better than the coconut/yogurt/lime relaxer or using henna .

What did it to your hair exactly? Do you have pictures?

Sorry, no pics. It did not loosesn the curls that much, but it makes my hair feel soo much smoother and less frizzy. It took some of the volume out of my hair, which is ok for me. I definately will do it again. It is just my version of the baking soda treatment.

Have you tried a Cherry Lola treatment? Just wondering how they compare.

Lightbulb homemade soda ash

If you place into a glass baking dish an amount of baking soda, heat it at 500 for about 90 minutes and then pour it into your shampoo along with the milk of magnesia, you will have a stronger mixture. I did a version of this recipie and it stretched my hair. I was pleased with the results because it got all of the snarls off of the ends of my hair.
I had to conduct a bunch of research and become a quickstudy of chemestry so use this mixture at your own risk. When I added shampoo to my mix, it smelled just like relaxer--ammonia smelling. Sooo.....
