Ordering online...
I finally got a Visa gift card, so I can order online. Which is better...ordering from a Canadian site like Honey Fig and paying higher product prices but lower shipping, or from a US site like Curl Mart or AveYou and getting lower product prices but higher shipping? Thanks!

I order from all that you mentioned (as well as others). Lately, with any Curlmart or Aveyou orders, I am charged with a brokerage/customs fee upon delivery. The charge is in the range of $10 - $15. Honeyfig prices are very high, but shipping cost is lower. So, I will usually order from Curlmart and Aveyou when there is a good sale which even with the extra charge on delivery is cheaper than Honeyfig. When Honeyfig has a sale, I order from them.
Another thing I consider is the length of time for delivery. Honeyfig is usually within 3 business days, Aveyou is 7 - 10 days and Curlmart is within 5 days. If I need a product quicker, I will pay the extra and order from Honeyfig.

What other sites do you order from? With the brokerage fee, is that cash only? How does that work? I've never had that before.

I order from Curl Junkie (highest shipping cost $25), Marie Dean, Shescentit, Darcy's Botanicals and Spiral Solutions.
The brokerage fee normally has to be paid by cheque or credit upon delivery. As I am thinking about it, I don't recall having to pay a brokerage fee when products are delivered by the Postal service. I have paid the extra fee with UPS and FedEx.

I haven't yet. But due to the extra cost in converting and the related fees, I might just stick with ordering in Canada. I'm not sure yet though.

It depends on the products you're looking for. I find that a lot of the good curly products are on US sites. The CDN/US exchange rate is pretty good right so the prices should be pretty close to par. I don't know about shipping though. I don't know if that will be an added expense.
What are good canadian hair shopping sites anyway? All I know is well.ca is similar to drugstore.com

www.haircues.ca! Check it out! Reasonable prices and pretty fast shipping through Canada post. Shipping prices depend on how much you order.
