Default Toronto/Scarborough

For anyone in Toronto/Scarborough area I've found some of the sulfate and silicone free shampoos and conditioners mentioned on this site at Parkway mall (Victoria Park and Ellesmere)...the name of the store slips my mind at the moment, but you really can't miss it since that mall is so small.

Calgarians! (All... two... of us!)

Kinky Curly is sold at a very small hair care store called Island Beat. They are at 12 - 3745 Memorial Dr SE Calgary Alberta.

A subsidiary called Trendy Strands sells the product out of the Island Beats store, so you have to call TS directly (403-453-0452).I'd recommend calling first -- I went by today and scooped up the last of the KCCC and the KCKT. Their stock amount is rather small.

I was in the Yonge and Wellesley neighbourhood last week and wandered into Cosmetic World (on Yonge, north of Wellesley) and WHOA, that store was packed to the brim with so many brands of hair products that I'd never heard of before! I only had time to glance around for a few minutes but I saw that they had TIGI, Nexus, AG Hair Cosmetics (the re:coil stuff I've seen people talk about here)...and a ton of other curl-specific brands. I bought a spray bottle, a wide tooth comb and some hair clips (although I haven't tried clipping my hair yet) for less than $10.. I quickly lost track of time, I was so immersed in looking at all the different brands lol..

Healthy Planet...the HFS in that mall. There are several locations of Healthy Planet around TO and GTA area...they should carry mostly the same stuff at each.

Default Curl Ambassador Frizz Free Foam

I went for that deal only one time, but I bought the Frizz Free foam. I like it but I can't find anyplace else in the city that carries/sells it. I don't want to drive all the way to Vaughn just for a bottle of mousse....have you seen it anywhere else?

Exclamation Kinky Curly

Hey Everyone!

This is my first post. I've been looking for Kinky Curly Custard at a good price, (because I find it overpriced compared to US prices-like everything!). I live in the downtown core in Toronto. I'm a little excited right now because I have called 4 places and in my last call I hit pay dirt!

I am going to Sunrise Beauty Supplies at Gerrard Square today. If you dig kinky Curly you should too. I use the Kinky Curly Custard and The Knot Today. Let me tell you the prices they quoted over the phone.

Kinky Curly Custard 8oz $19.99!
Kinky Curly Custard 16oz $34.99!
Knot Today 8oz $14.99!

That is amazing! I don't believe in getting ripped off so I'm going to hop the streetcar and save myself some dosh... or buy more products with all my savings!

I think we should all be able to save a few bucks as Canadians because we always seemed to get reamed on the exchange rate and shipping costs. Here is my roundup on the Kinky Curly prices based on my phone calls today. Sunrise may carry other products you like to use. Give them a call and do your own comparison.

Curl Bar (Sherbourne st)
KC Custard 8oz $28
KC Knot Today $24

Curl Ambassadors (Harbord st)
KC Custard 16oz $46.10
KC Knot Today 8oz $31.11

HoneyFig (Sheppard ave)
KC Custard 160z $40.00
KC Knot Today 8oz $24.00

Blackbeautifulhair.ca
KC Custard 16oz $49.00
KC Knot Today 8oz $24.99

Quite a difference in price! So, I am definitely heading over to Sunrise to save me some money. Give them a call (416.465.8154) to price compare whatever you're using ... maybe they carry it. They seemed nice and helpful on the phone. I'll post my experience once I've visited the shop!

Bye for now!

I ordered mine from iherb. There's a shipping fee, but if you order a couple things from there you can take advantage of the flat rate. My discount code is rff350 if you're interested.

Default Calgarians!!

People in Calgary:

I found the whole Curls Unleashed line in the Target in Market Mall this week....It was the first time I found something other than generic ORS/relaxer stuff so I was pretty psyched. Since I live in the NW and don't have a car (and it takes over an hour to get to the NE/SE via public transit from where I am) this is definitely super convenient for me.
