Default Received Arc Angell

just wanted to say that i got the arc angell from Katina yesterday. I may have spoken too soon and i apologize but would recommend to all those that do swap that we try to keep each other updated on when we're sending out our stuff as feelings could get hurt. We are all in this to learn new tactics on how to handle or care for our curls so communication is a big key. Thank you Katina for sending me the Arc Angell.

Ok, I didn't want to do this but I guess at this point I don't have a choice. I'm posting this here even though it was a swap on the makeup/beauty products board.
I sent MEGHUNEY a product and a month later have not received my payment. I pm'd her and haven't heard from her so I'm assuming I won't be receiving my money. I can understand if something came up but it would be nice to have some communication.

I recently talked to meg, and she said she did send payment. She has not been on nc.com in awhile because of personal matters. You might send her an email to her personal email account. There is that option instead of sending a pm.

I wanted to Post a "General" comment and I also put it on the Feedback section that Sellers need to update their threads when something is sold.

Default caution re: shmoozala

Attempted a swap with this member two weeks ago
-She waited two weeks to respond to my PM, and only did so after reposting the items
-In her PM she asked if I was still interested
-I responded 8 hours later (I had been at a job interview and driving the entire time)
-She waited two days to respond to me to tell me she had swapped them else (and began her email with "When I didn't hear from you...)
-Was simultaneously trying to collect money from me and another curly for the same item

Overall, very sketchy behavior for someone with so few posts.

Default defense against newcurly

may i just say that it probably doesn't matter that i'm writing this because i'm so turned off by this process that i will never do this again. but...

in every post i have written i have explained that i am new to this, did not know the process, and have never done it before. i was under the impression that i would receive an email if i had a PM or if someone replied to my threat. i did not get either when i put up my swap post and so i just assumed no one wanted what i was selling. i do not check this site often, so i didn't even see i had any PMs. that is why i was a slow responder. when i put it up for sale again (again, assuming that i did not sell it the first time but might if i tried a second round), i saw my PM box and noticed i had a million PMs! i sent responses back to everyone apologizing and picked newcurly to sell it to. i did not realize there was an etiquette to this or rules because i've never done it before and am terrible with computers. i was trying to sell this before i went out of town for the holiday because i am moving the week i return and wanted to be done with it. again, i did not know i was supposed to wait a number of days or hours or whatever before selling it to someone else.

but the claim that i was trying to take money from numerous people at the same time is ridiculous and unfounded. in fact, the arrangement i have with the person who is buying the products is that she is waiting to send me the check UNTIL SHE RECEIVES MY PACKAGE. if i was trying to collect money from numerous people, then why would i be willing to send her my item without even knowing i would get the money except for on good faith. and, i never even gave newcurly my address, name, or paypal information, so i could not have been collecting money from her. how on earth would she have gotten it from me?

i think it's unfair to make bold claims about someone that aren't true, especially ones that accuse me of a swindler. i was sent an angry, mean message from newcurly, when i have done nothing of the sort.

i am that person. i was leery of a swap with her because she was new, had few, posts, and had a prior listing for the same product (which happens to be a hot one so if I were a scammer thats what i would try to sell!) i contacted her and let her know of my uneasiness and she has been 100% cooperative. i think i (we) got a little scammer paranoid but so far she has proven that she is not by agreeing to send product to me first and i will pay once it is recieved. no possible way to scam there!

we haven't completed the swap yet, but i am sure i will be happy with it and will update when its all over

It's not looking good for a swap with Murphyette. No communication, no product receipt, nothing. It's been about ten days. I'm going to contact PayPal.

update:
Which I did, and found that I'd had the payment I'd sent her refunded (thank goodness). But again, no communication, no replies to my messages (both pm and public); nothing.

Murphyette, this was not a good advertisement for future swaps.

Default Did I get taken?

Well, after stewing about this for several days now, I finally decided to post to this thread.

A short while ago, I put an ad on the swap board that I had 1/3 of Deva Low Poo to swap and that I was looking for Biotera or Deva No Poo. I received an offer for 2/3 bottle of Biotera and took that offer. A couple of days after I shipped the Deva, I got another PM that the Biotera was shipped but "sorry", it's 1/3 bottle, not 2/3. This person hadn't used it in a while and forgot how much was left. They "hope this isn't a problem".

Well....YEAH.....it kinda is. I would never have agreed to swap 1/3 Deva for 1/3 Biotera - this is not a fair swap at all. (I actually like the Deva - I just needed some Biotera ASAP).

Am I making too big of a deal in my head over this? I will decline to post the other swappers name unless you guys think I should.........

Thanks.

I'd be bothered by it. That was not the deal you agreed to. Have you talked this over with your swapper? Maybe they could include a few bucks to make up for the missing 1/3.

After reading these last few posts, the swapper did PM me and offer to send me $1.00 via PayPal. I declined and will chalk it up to a lesson learned. I'm pretty much put off on swapping right now but I'm sure I'll get over it.

May I just suggest to those who swap, though....double check the amount of your product before offering to make a swap with somebody, or, at the very least, before exchanging addresses.

Not a positive transaction with Dulcymh. We set up a sale and she was "supposed" to have sent her check(and never did) and I gave it a wk cuz we have had some bad storms here and no check so I pm'd her letting her know I didn't receive it yet and would let her know when I did. Well I gave it another 3 days and still no check, no pm, nothing. I pm'd her letting her know she had until the end of the weekend to respond back to me and then I would be offering it to others, no response to that pm and she read all my pms. So no check, no pm saying she changed her mind. All it takes is a pm saying so. It isn't that hard instead of making someone think they will be receiving a check and waiting and holding the product when someone else could have it instead. I never mailed the product but still.

Kiki, I'm so sorry that happened to you. I wish I'd seen your swap, I have alot of Bioterra and I love Deva's stuff.
Maybe next time!

Default Old Products for Sale

Always ask a Seller how long they have had a product and whether they have tested it. Things can go bad even when they aren't Natural, this happened to me.

Also, if you have any kind of ingredient sensitivity have the Seller CHECK their product to make sure it agrees with the ingredients you get from curlmart or product web site. Formulas CHANGE and I ended up with something that I can't use because of this and the Seller didn't disclose that they had the older formula.

Thumbs down BEWARE: Nutella0117

After waiting 3weeks I never received product. She did communicate with me just to let me know she hadn't shipped it at least a 1/2 dozen times. Here's a thought if going to the Post office is such a big production you probably shouldn't try to sell your stuff! I'm only swapping with folks who frequent this site from now on....

Default Advise me, PLEASE! Long, but important to me.

I really don't want to post a complaint, but please tell me whether you think I should.

It's a LONG story (over 8 weeks from beginning to end!) but I did finally get most of what I asked for, so I'm not sure what to do.

Things took ages, mostly because there was such a delay until I got a response to my emails, but it did sound like she was having difficulties getting online. The only problem with this excuse is that I could see that she was online regularly and just hadn't answered me. I never called her out on this, although, once again, I'm now waiting for a reply from her and, although she's online regularly, it just never comes.

Basically, 4 bottles were advertised on swap (she'd ordered them from the US), but apparently 1 had leaked and she was waiting "a few days" for the replacement to be sent to her and then she'd send it to me. Admittedly, and probably stupidly of me in hindsight, I said I wasn't in a particular hurry, and she could send them all together when the last bottle arrived "in a few days". I agreed to pay £30 for the 4 bottles, plus she said it would cost £15 for postage, making it £45 that I paid her. After much delay, and after I asked her if she'd sent the parcel since I'd paid her weeks ago, she said she'd posted it two days before. According to the post office she didn't send it until 3 days after we 'spoke', so I was waiting and unnecessarily tied to being at home for a week that I didn't need to be if she'd been honest with me. Also, the postage cost £6.61, not £15, which actually, if things had worked out, I would probably have just written it off.

6 weeks after I said I'd like to swap, the parcel finally arrives, but with 3 bottles instead of 4. I thanked her (didn't point out that they were posted late or that postage was £8.39 cheaper than quoted) and asked her if she'd had any news about the one that got away, as it were. I've had no response, but, again, I see her online regularly. Not daily, but definitely today, and I'm furious. I've been waiting for an answer (and stewing) for two and a half weeks.

Not only do I not get an explanation or acknowledgement from her, but now I'm out over half the postage, AND the value of the missing bottle. So I'm almost £16 out of pocket for a £45 package. That's nearly 1/3 extra of the value that I've paid for nothing!

What should I do? Ask her for the £16 back and wash my hands of this, or ask her for the last bottle that I've paid (and actually paid postage) for? I'm so frustrated at the lack of communication, but if she can't be emailed (option disabled) and doesn't answer her PMs (stretching out a process that should have taken days to a month and a half) I think putting the complaint here would be justified, no? But then I'm very annoyed. Do I just need to cool off?

You should call her out on it by name. You work hard for your money....you didn't give her 16Euros for free. I'd pursue it, even if it means going thru paypal.

ITA I have no tolerance for this kind of stuff. People need to act more professional with swapping and treat it as a business transaction. I've had a few bad swaps lately so I understand completely. If this were e-bay these types of transactions would go against the Sellers Feedback to warn others and protect buyers.

Wow, that is a bad situation. I'm also struck by the gall of this person continuing to blithely post to these boards as if she hasn't just totally screwed one of the members (and maybe others). You owe it to yourself and to others to call her out. I can forgive someone who is a victim of circumstance (car broke down, snowstorm, etc) and put up with a few days' delay, but the kind of behavior you've described is completely unacceptable.
