Default A notice about swapping on NaturallyCurly.com

Although rare, scams can happen here. Scams can include, not receiving the item you purchased, not receiving money for the item you sold, and a discrepancy between the item described on the swap board and the item received. While swapping at NaturallyCurly.com is completely at your own risk , these tips can help to reduce the risk:
*
1. Any negative feedbacks? This is first line of defense to avoid scams.

2. Find out what payment is accepted and if there disclaimers. If the seller will only accept certain specific types of payment that is not Paypal (i.e. a money order) proceed with caution.

3. Is the price too good to be true? It probably is.

4. When it's time to mail, insure items to ensure you can recoup shipping damages. Be aware of shipping policies by non-USPS services (i.e. Fedex).

If you have any questions or suggestions please email us.

Here are more useful tips from the Bad Swap thread:

Here is some advice to sellers:

1. DO NOT , under any circumstances, send out a product before payment.

2. Put a delivery confirmation on it , if at all possible. I will even add a delivery confirmation into the shipping costs and slip it in. I won't hardly send any packages anymore without this on it.

3. Always offer insurance. If they buyer does not want insurance it is not your fault if the item gets lost or damaged. Your fault- not theirs!

4. Package Your Items CORRECTLY! Don't send something small in a huge box or don't send a boat load of stuff that isn't quite stuffing in the box very good. This results in broke/damaged items and packages breaking open and items being lost.

5. If the person doesn't reply in 48 hours on if they are sure they want it and how they are sending payment.. let the item go to the next person who responds!

Buyers:
1. Please be courteous and email us sellers back when you email about a product! It is very rude to ask about something and say you are interested in purchasing and never reply.

2. Always ASK for a delivery confirmation or insurance. Some buyers offer, but I would. If the seller has sent the package they will be able ot send you this number and show it as being sent.

3. Please send Payments ON TIME! Don't wait 5 weeks to send a payment.

4. Don't send cash in the mail anymore. Its unwise and many post offices are having problems with cash being stolen. We live in a one horse town and have this problem!

Hope this helps!!

A gentle reminder that the swap boards are to swap goodies you've purchased and found not to your liking.

It is not appropriate to use any part of CurlTalk to sell products you are manufacturing.

Another quick note: It's also inappropriate to run a business from here. I think most of us understand what "swapping" means. Taking orders and selling samples is not "swapping" and is not something we can permit.

We very much support the entrepreneurial spirit, but must ask that you do it elsewhere! We simply cannot support/moderate every entrepreneur out there!

Hi Gretchen. I have a few things I would like to put up on the swapboard, that are barely used,(1 or 2 small apps, taken out.) and seem to be popular. But Im afraid to proceed, because ,have never done, before.Once people want them ,want to proceed in timely manner.Do I go into post office, and have them do it. Is this the cheapest way, and how do I get confirmation, or insurance. Sorry ,Im so inexperianced. I usually use fedex,I hate UPS, but, I know for just a small package, lately, its been 8.00 to ship. Please tell me the cheapest way to go. Thanks, very much, Michele Beck
