Has anyone tried Jamaican Black Castor Oil for thinning hair?

I've been doing a bit of reading about this, how's everyone going with it? Early days I know but I'm curious!

Have also been looking at Rogaine - crimsonshedemon, did you experience further hair loss when you first started using it? It seems quite common but the idea of it (even in the short term) kinda freaks me out.

Ok, thanks. I found some on ebay that seems reasonable (can't find any here in Oz) so I may give it a whirl.

regular cold pressed Castor oil has done wonders for my thinning crown... I used for six months and can hardly find those problem areas

since I'm running out of the regular cold pressed Castor oil I'm jumping on the JBCO band wagon... I ordered recently from jamaicanoils.com site

my edges haven't thickened as fast as my crown so I'm hoping to have better results with JBCO; I ordered the dark JBCO Sunny Isle brand

CO, Elucene brand moisturizing shampoo/ moisturizing conditioners, AVJ/ACV rinses are in my arsenal of staple products. My hair DOES like silicones... Organix Argan Oil is a keeper.

I got some from ebay as planned. Have been using it for a couple of weeks now so a bit early to see any results. It smells bad and I find it really hard to distribute as it's so thick, but am persevering.

Have just bought jbco few weeks ago. It's thick but I think is working on my edges. But a bit too early to pronounce a verdict.
I've been using JBCO for about a week, it's too soon to see results but I'm hoping to geat good results like so may others.

I have been applying daily to temple areas and sealed my ends with it after a wash and DC- a tablespoon was added to my DC for added moisture.

I thought that JBCO would feel really thick and tacky on my scalp but it doesn't; if my scalp likes a product it's a keeper.

How about regular castor oil used as a laxative found at walgreens? Anyone tried it?

I didn't want to use Rogaine because I didn't want to make that commitment or have my edges revert back to their previous state. I had been lurking online for months, stalking reviews and raves of JBCO. This was the post that finally convinced me to try it: How I Helped my Mom Regrow her Edges in 5 Months | Black Girl with Long Hair.

The pictures speak the truth. I've been using it nearly everyday since April and my edges have grown in much thicker. Nearly right away too. I'm compulsive about taking pictures to track the progress. I apply a drop or two and massage it in daily. I've been slacking lately but seeing this thread reminded me to start it up again.

I want to try it in the OCM to clear up my skin. However, I did notice breakouts along my hairline, but that could be from my satin cap trapping my pores.
I bought some today and am going to start trying it! I've also been reading about folicure from sallys so may look into it as well
I am using it now mainly in crown and temple areas. One ckncern, my scalp has been itchimg after use. Using too much?

I have too heard a lot about Castor oil. It seems so thick. I have searched for a scalp oil that easily penetrates the scalp and doesn't leave a heavy, look to my hair. Applying it at night helps, esp around thinning edges, absorbs on its on time without much interruption-except a little tossing and turning. well ive been using JBCO for a lil over a month now and i must say I LOVE IT!!! i have 4a type hair and it makes my hair sssssooooooo soft!! it makes my curls shiny and bouncy i love it i apply it to my edges every night before i go to sleep and it has helped them grow back in. i used to relax my edges when i was transitioning because i hated how they looked natural so they broke off. but the castor oil has def helped them and i will continue to use it and recommend everyone with this problem to try it! the downside is the smell isnt very strong but after using it every night it gets annoying because i have to wash my pillow case and hair scarf more then i usually do and i can still smell it on them :
Has anyone used castor oil?I'm really trying to grow my hair 4-6 inches in about 4-6 months.I need help.

How long did you use it?
How fast did your hair grow?
How many times per week did you apply it?

Thanks for your advice!
I just started using it the day before Christmas and haven't really seen any changes . It does make my hair softer and it's a good moisturizer for skin .
Thank you for posting this! A friend suggested using JBCO for thinning hair, and I just bought it. I will let you know how it works for me. BTW, for those who are having a hard time finding it...I bought it at an international FOOD grocery store. It was behind the counter. Just another thought if you can't find it in beauty stores.
