Default Bald Spots

Hello Curlies,

Does anyone have a good remedy for bald spots? I have a bald spot at the top or crown of my head from braids. I had braids for two years, took them out in Sept 2011 and have been wearing my hair in twist outs ever since. I have 4b hair.

Thank you for all your help

Not using a hair style that pulls on your hair like that is the only solution. Otherwise you'll keep losing the hair. It's called traction alopecia.

It takes a lot of time for hair to grow back. If the spot is being stubborn, you may want to try Rogaine. Dont know if it would help or not. It takes 3-6 months to see if the Rogaine helps.
Other than that, I have no idea. I no how demoralizing bald spots are. Good luck.

Try massaging castor oil.

The only negative thing that I've heard about Rogaine is that you have to keep using it or your hair will fall out again.

My mum has suffered with bald spots and has tried several things (sulfur, castor oil, megatek and others), the thing that has worked best for her is Jamaican black castor oil (I have a YouTube video with her progress pics showing the results she got from each product if you want to see how she got on Hair Loss and Regrowth: Recovering from Alopecia (with before and afer pics) - YouTube )

Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you, I know how devastating hair loss can be
