Question Sun screen?

We're heading down to the Caribbean for a week's vacation next month. I have fine, thin hair, and on our last beach vacation, I got a sunburn on the top of my head. I have a hat, but that doesn't help while out in the ocean. Does anyone have any recommendations for sunscreen to protect the scalp? I'm more worried about protecting my scalp than my hair, so if it isn't CG, I'm willing to sacrifice for a week.

The only thing I've found so far is Fairy Tales Coco Cabana Leave-In Sun Spray, but I can't tell how well that protects the scalp as opposed to the hair. I'd rather not have to resort to spraying my head with something like Banana Boat spray, but I also don't want to burn my head.

Thanks!

If you're looking for a sun screen for while you're in the water, I'd recommend Bullfrog. It's waterproof.

(I've burned my scalp before, and it was bad, but when it started peeling was the worst! Here's hoping you have a great and sunburn free trip!)

Ow, ow, ow. Done that. California baby is also waterproof, but I don't know how it compares to Bullfrog in pleasant-ness of use (it's goopy with a capital G). If you want a spray, you might choose one made for skin (not hair) and with zinc/titanium as the sunscreen - having been warned that you'll need to wash it out really well! The new "clear" zincs are easier to deal with. BurnOut Eco-Sensitive Zinc Oxide Sunscreen SPF 32 is one I've tried recently. It's waterproof and really easy to spread.
If I were using a spray or cream, I'd part my hair many times and spray or dab in the part and rub it in. Good luck.

Hi! I just got back from Punta Cana ))) A week before that I had colored my hair. Even though we have spent almost 10 days under the sun and I was not wearing a hat - my hair color is still vibrant. I think there is nothing better than Sun Protection line from Goldwell. My favorite product is Goldwell Dualsenses Sun Reflects Leave In Protect Spray. It protects your hair form sun rays, plus detangles, moisturizes, non-greasy at all, and smells wonderful.
Another wonderful and award-winning product is Pureology Essential Repair Colour Max Sun protecting spray. Its 100% Vegan by the way. I use it a lot. I would have taken it on a trip with me, but the bottle was pretty big. This product is also a great hair repairing solution + detangler.
Hope that helps.
