Default Am I balding or thinning?

It looks like it to me eventhough I have a widow's peak.

were you not like that before? I have that same thinning area, but I look at my past pictures and I've always been like that.

I don't remember it being that extreme I've been burned before where my hair looked bleached because of the burn and it broke off....maybe it doesn't look as bad from a distance.

They tell me that usually we've been that way but then when we put attention to it, we imagine as worse. I'm worrying about the same areas. I do nothing to my edges, but I do henna weekly in that area, I hope that's not iT

The color could be changing making it look different.I colored my hair lighter and now most of my hair is growing back but I don't think that's it.

It's hard to see from the pic but it looks like some hair regrowth? If you are in your 40s or older then majority of us start thinning. Hormones are to blame, age, then maybe diet, genes. I have hormones and genes and age 48 going on. I have diffuse thinning where there is scalp showing all over the crown and it's hard to cover it all. Nothing can be done except don't use harsh stuff and tools on your hair and keep healthy. Take a look at your parents too as many of us follow the path of one or both of them.

Well I was burned once so bad by a hair stylist that the hair was blond looking and finally the next day broke off.Since then I try to avoid going to salons even the students at beauty schools don't make such horrific mistakes.
I'm 17 so I doubt its due to hormones.

That's the best thing to do is avoid harsh chemicals/tools on your hair/scalp. IMO things add up. I feel that my past is coming back to haunt me as well cuz I used to straighten and highlight my hair a lot and sometimes my scalp/hair was damaged even tho I did it with a highly skilled stylist. Now I'm forced to be gentle. No hair dryers even. It doesn't stop my hair loss but I'm hoping I'm postponing the inevitable.

Is this what you're talking about?? I am a bit concerned about it too. But my husband says that's just the way I've always been. Of course that's me pulling my hair back, when it's down it's not like that. If I open it up and pull it back, yes

I have heard small amounts of caffeine and castor oil help in regrowth of hair. Maybe you can google it .. ? I try tried caffeine for a week but I was too lazy to continue..so I never got any results.. anyway, there no harm in trying .. Do a bit of research before you decide to start using them

If you are pulling your hair tight, that can be the cause or contributing factor.

Post Oils work for thinning along the hairline

Your hair is not thinning. Try rubbing some adp super gro oil or wild growth oil into your spot. Oils work really well to regrow hair thinning along the hair line.
