How to stop hair loss.

Like Tree1Likes

I'm a sufferer of alopecia and it gets bad at the worst of times, the only thing that I use that works is the Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment. It doesn't smell very nice and gives me a headache after use.

Can anyone recommend anything else?
I have PCOS and have started using Cedarwood essential oil on my scalp every night for hair loss. I've only been doing it for about 3 weeks now and have noticed that I am losing a lot less hair when I wash or apply products to my hair.

Thanks Amy, will give this a shot, they seem to sell it in my local Holland and Barrett, just did a quick search. My friends have started using Alpecin Shampoo, you ever heard of it?
I haven't heard of that, but I am using Bosley shampoo and conditioner as well. I didn't notice it doing anything so I probably won't get it again once it's gone. I'm hoping the Cedarwood helps and I've started using an essential oil for hormone balance as well so I'm hoping that using both will help.

It's too soon to tell yet, but I do notice I'm not losing as much when I wash or comb through my hair so that's a plus!

I'm really depressed about my hair thinning on top. Doctor says I have pcos although my ovaries look great my hormone levels are normal but slightly off on the ratio. Do any of yall get facial hair in addition to hair thinning? I never used to be able to see my scalp through my hair and now I can. Luckily I have thick hair to begin with but I still want to stop it before it gets worse.

See I can't take bcp because I have migraines with an aura (neurological symptoms) I had my tubes tied though but birth control would balance out my pcos. I tried a couple other meds buy couldn't tolerate the side effects. Metformin and spironolactone. It's so very frustrating.
I couldn't do regular metformin because of the side effects so they switched me to the extended release and it seems to work well for me and I don't have the side effects. TMI incoming but I've had a 'period' now for a month and a half. Not a lot, but just enough to be annoying for the most part...a few heavy days mixed in there. I just started the Endoflex on the 17th of this month along with Zinc and Salmon Oil per the naturepath so hopefully I'll start to see some more improvement.

Do you get any of the GI side effects with the extended release? I would wake in the middle of the night with abdominal cramps so bad I almost wanted to go to the ER the first time except I had been taking the metformin for a few days and I didn't realize the abdominal pain could be that bad.

Do you have to eat a low carb diet? My doctor suggested low carbs with the metformin but I feel so week and nauseated without at least some complex carbs in my diet. (And no I'm not diabetic, i have been tested).
He recommended I eat complex carbs but not necessarily a low carb diet. I'm not diabetic either, but because of the PCOS I do get reactive hypoglycemia where my sugars drop about 2 hours after I eat unless I eat proteins and complex carbs. The metformin has helped that tremendously for me.

You need to try this total hair regrowth and use it with Regenepure DR

Two of the best things I have ever paid for. The THR will give you tweaks to make in your diet to nourish and thicken the hair and the Regenepure will slow down and stop any sort of thinning and shedding. I'm an alopecia sufferer and these two have helped me so much!
