So I'm looking for a new shampoo and conditioner for my hair. Right now I'm using Shea moisture shampoo and conditioner for thin hair (has a green label), but I feel like it weighs my hair down. What are some good products that won't weigh my hair down but also won't dry it out?

I'm in the same boat as you. I recently switched to shampoo bars, because co-washing was weighing down my hair while also leaving the ends dry and stringy. I'm also experimenting with different amounts of the product I regularly use (KCCC); I find that too little turns my hair into a frizz ball, while too much leaves it feeling crusty and gross.

It does leave my hair feeling great, though it's a bit squeaky. I'm trying to figure out the best stage to work in some argon oil to combat the clarifier's drying effects...but the KC shampoo has really, really helped the product build-up I'm prone to. My hair is fine and low porrosity, so I do get a lot of gunk hanging around though, so the more intense shampoo seems to be good for that.
I have the same type of hair but mines a combo of 3B, with some 3a underneath. For shampoo I've been using Renpure Coconut Cream shampoo, it has a water soluble cone in it, but its super far down the list. I absolutely LOVE THIS shampoo, and I've tried a lot. It lathers, but doesn't have any sulfates, just cocomidopropyl betaine. It's also moisturizing but not in a heavy way. I can't use Shea Moisture shampoos because they weigh my hair down.
For conditioner, I love tresseme naturals, and recently I tried the perfectly undone but it seemed to weigh down my hair somehow. I like it and I'll try it again in the summertime. Another conditioner I love is Aussie Moist, it also has a water soluble cone, but honestly it penetrates, moisturizes but not too much, no build.up. I use it as a leave in as well.
For styling I love making flax seed &marshmallow root gel, topped with some LA Looks Sport.

Please suggest some STYLING products for thin 3a hair, without much protein (or any protein). Does Deva make something that you recommend? Or Curl Junkie?
2/c-3a Coarse hair med. density.
Highly porous. Color over grey.
I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....
Every day is a gift
I remember Curl Junkie Pattern Pusha being recommended as a product without protein in it. I adore the volume foam by sweet curls elixirs. I find it gives great volume to my fine hair and has good enough hold on its own (though I add PVP to mine) that either I leave it on as the final product or spray a touch of all natural hairspray over for a really good hold. It has no protein unless you ask her to add (though you may like silk protein as an add-in, as even people whose hair dislikes protein seem to like this one).

2C/f/i
Baby fine hair, medium porosity
Shampoos: SM Fruit Fusion, KCCC, Avalon lemon (to clarify)
Stylers: SCE Volume Foam, Homemade gelatin gel, Andalou Hairspray
Treatments: Fermented Rice Water, Catnip Tea, Amla tea, Irish Moss
PT: IA Girl's PT and SS PT
Thanks very much, Naturecat. I'm not sure how protein sensitive I am. I sometimes use a little Curl Junkie Beauticurls which has some protein in it and I'm OK if I don't use too much.

The reason I posted is that I'm trying to go full on c.g. and I find that the Curl Junkie Curl Cream, while great in many respects doesn't give me volume at all like some of the non c.g. products, so I'm looking for something that's cg that gives volume. I'll read up on the Pattern Pusha and the Sweet Curls Elixers.

Thanks again for responding!
