Congrats Oats!

I'm transitioning too, I'm 14 months in. I have no plans of cutting yet so keepin' on truckin'. The permed hair really doesn't bother me very much.
At fourteen months I'm sholder length , I cut off all my heat damage ends, like an. Inch

I think I may be the oldest here, 2 and a half years (30 months). My hair is close to waist but natural hair is about shoulder length or so. Don't know of its because its hot but lately I've been getting the urge to chop. So far I've only been slowly trimming. I might take the plunge when it gets cooler. As much as I would like to be rocking wash and go's it's too damn hot. I like being able to braid and bun my hair.

I've been transitioning for 30 months so far. When stretched, the front still reaches my nose, but the sides are collar bone length. Still not sure when I will make the chop. I feel so lost.

Hey ladies! I'm a super long transitioned as well. I'm just about at 16 months. I thought it would have take 2 yrs for my hair to completely grow out, but when the 1 yr mark came I realized it would take much longer. *sigh*

I trimmed like 3 inches Wednesday and today I trimmed another two. Hair is a bit above BSL now. I thought I would be sad about losing the length but I'm not. It's sooooo thick!!! I freaking love it. Can't wait to get rid of the rest of the relaxed hair. I might chill with the trimming though (although this could be considered a mini-chop I guess). This length is good so I'll wait a couple of more months to trim again. I only have like 2-3 inches of relaxed hair left so I'm almost there :-D

@sakiohma I'm sorry you're having so much trouble Maybe your hair is breaking off and you're not realizing it. If you're manipulating it often, or adding heat, or...I dunno. I don't see how it's possible for a person's hair to literally not grow out of their head unless they have some sort of illness.

Oh, it's ok. It's growing, but just growing slowly. I've learned to just accept it. Length doesn't mean much to me just so long as it's healthy and I'm in love with my hair right now ^___^ There are no more knots sense I learned how to detangle properly and no split ends or breakage (that I know of) so I'm happy.

I'm comig close to my 4 month and am really enjoying the journey thus far. I had my hair braides for the past two weeks. Today I took out the braids and so much hair came out ugh I was depressed. I also washed my hair after taking out my braids and now I am thinking that was a bad idea bcus so much more hair came out. I love the texture of my new growth (not sure what my hair type is but I have high porosity hair). I began to feel a little depressed about that. Has anyone else felt depressed with their transition?

I've been transitioning from heat damage since 2011 The "Super Long Transitioners" Thread!-imageuploadedbycurltalk1374277651.327921.jpg and nowThe "Super Long Transitioners" Thread!-imageuploadedbycurltalk1374277683.265010.jpgThe "Super Long Transitioners" Thread!-imageuploadedbycurltalk1374277696.814777.jpg I think I'm pretty much done but Im at a point where I want to hide the scissors from myself and just let it grow. I feel like my hair has stayed the same length for the past two years
I did it!!! I finally "big" chopped...although not really. Been cutting 2-3 inches every month. This week on my 31st birthday after I washed my hair I saw I was basically all natural except some very straight pieces that needed to be cut off so today I did just that. I'm so happy. Thought I'd be sad about the length...I was waist length before I started chopping...but I'm not. Well here is the result

Love seeing everyone's natural growth come through! These pictures are gorgeous, girls!

I'm about a year or so into my transition (I started last summer). The last time I had it chemically straightened was longer ago than that (6 months or so prior, I think). BUT it was just over a year that I decided to transition and not to have my next treatment or use straighteners. I do wish I'd kept a more accurate date of when I officially started, but oh well!

My new growth is at the end of my ears (so lip-length? Is that a thing? Haha). I think it'll probably be at least another 6 months to a year before all my chemically straightened ends are chopped off.

I'm doing gradual chops now and, actually, my hair seems to be growing quicker despite the fact that I'm getting it cut more often than I did when I was 'straight'. I think it's because I'm taking such good care of my hair now (yay for CG)

My goal is for my natural growth to reach my shoulders before I then cut off all my relaxed ends (because I know shrinkage will be a b*tch). Time seems to be going so slowly though but I suppose that's always the way, so I'm just trying to enjoy my journey. It'll be worth it in the end! (And I'm in noway cool enough to pull off a big chop do!)
