I don't really have an end date for my transition. I suppose until my hair is at a length I am comfortable at. I've had both long and short hair before but I had to see a hair dresser when my hair was cut short.
My last relaxer was November 28th 2009.

I'm just about fourteen months into my (at least) 30 month transition. If I don't have any relaxed ends by my second year, it'll be cool. However, if I do, I'll keep on truckin' along.
Right now, my hair's bsl. I want MBL stretched hair; but, I'm open to see what happens.

Yea I'm feeling the same way. I initially said I wanted to transition for a yr, however when you reach that point you realize that a yrs worth of natural hair growth really is not that much. So now I'm saying another yr or 2more MAX! I really wanted to be all natural when I turn 30 next yr however I will have to see what my growth looks like next summer. I can put my hair into a really nice, thick bun at this point and that is something I do not want to let go of, so maybe if my natural hair is long enough so I can do that next summer I will end my transition a yr early.

Wow. Your hair length at this point is exactly where I want my hair to be ONCE I'm all natural...bsl curly & mbl straight. How long was your hair before you began transitioning & out of curiosity what is your hair regimen now?

30 month goal? Woooow. Your patience...
Do any long termers have some hairstyle ideas? I'm really bored with my three hairstyles.

Yea...I 2nd that ?.I probably have about 3styles myself & am getting pretty bored w/them as well plus I do not want to straighten my hair at all. I really need to find some really soon bc everytime I wash my hair I get a small urge to chop...give me the strength!

I wonder if anybody has ever had a really long transition where they just get rid of the damaged hair little by little instead of chopping big chunks of hair at a time (thus retaining their length)....wonder if it's possible or if at a certain length it just gets so unmanageable that one has to cut it all at once....

Well that is exactly what I am in the process of doing now. I do not do big chops at all. I just dust my ends whenever I feel they need to be. I'm just at a yr now & have had no major issues (knock on wood) so I plan on continuing to do the same thing until my natural hair reaches btwn apl & bsl.

I'm at Mid-back length right now. My goal is Waist length. You are giving me hope. My plan is to continue doing it until it's possible.

Congrats on reaching the length you have already achieved & I see absolutely no reason why you can't go as far as you want since you have already reached such an amazing goal!

So last night I did an overnight coconut oil DT, got up 2day, water rinsed it out, washed w/SM moisture retention shampoo, applied SM restorative condish & grapeseed oil, detangled, let sit for 30mins, rinsed, & then applied whipped shea butter section by section & placed my hair in bantu knots.
I tried to get a group texture shot of my curls but my cell phone was not cooperating...just kept giving me blurry images. So these are of my hair after I washed out the SM shampoo & before applying the condish.

I'm jumpin' on this bandwagon. My hair is currently collar length and I'm aiming for completely natural hair past the shoulders. I have no idea how long that will take, but I imagine it won't be fast.

Lol. Yea...it definitely takes time & serious commitment, however I believe it will all be worth it when I have this head full of lush, fabulous natural hair!

5 months post!
I'm currently 5 months post and I plan to transition for at least 2 years. I'm getting my hair cut into a bob before I start high school So I will post pictures when that gets done. Here is a picture of my new growth from this morning.

My first transition was for about 8 months, and I relaxed again because I was pressured by my mom and at the time I believe I was 12 so I really didn't know how to handle my hair.

Well at 12 I wasn't even close to thinking about transitioning so I give you alot of credit for even attempting to do so at that age!
