On the phone! Sorry for teh errerz.
I'm a little over a yr too. Aug 18, 2010 was my last relaxer. I had the same issue as you my hair was shoulder length (my husband loved it), but i did the b/c about a month ago and hubby aint that happy lol but i don't care it was best for me. my hair was breaking off completely to the new growth. love the short curly fro but need new style ideas.

i have been transitioning for about 15 months. i'd say i have about 5 inches of new growth and 7 of relaxed waves. i'm really tempted to cut my hair b/c i'm starting not to like how my hair looks when i wash and go. my friends and family are not keen on me cutting my hair. luckily hubby will support me no matter what. only things stopping me are fear, b/c i've never had short hair and i'm starting a new job so i don't want to look a mess since i'm a novice to the naturally curly thing, and my friend is getting married, so i feel long hair will be easier to style. but come Nov. i have a feeling i'll be itching to cut it.

13 Months into my transition and frustration is the phase I'm in right now!!!! Now don't get me wrong, I love my hair, I really do, but I am frustrated to no end!

I know I'm not alone, yet I feel alone, so I needed to join this site and Now I'm seeking Natural Hair Meetups in Chicago! I'm so focused on being 100% naturally curly. I will make it through this frustration.

My last relaxer was May 20 2011. My hair is braided right now so im not manipulating it so much. I havent really set a date or time line for the big chop. Im just excited and nervous about seeing what my hair looks like in its natural state.

I am 15 weeks post perm. This is my second time to transitioning to go natural. Was natural before for about 6 months and went back to the creamy crack. Not doing that again. My reason to transition again was because I really do miss having my natural hair.

10 months so far. I'm all braided up. After the 8 month mark dealing with these 2 textures gets to be a little bit too much.

Default Going on 6 months.

In two more week it will be 6months post relaxer. .. This is my second time going natural. But this time it more I know what suppose to happen and I am getting impatient.. I have breakage at the end of my hair.. I can not do the co-washing because my hair is very oil.. I bought Proclaim olive oil shampoo.. It works awesome.. The second best shampoo I ever had.. but learning experience( deep conditionar is a must). Do not skip them because your hair will be dry and brittle.. Also, I love the reviews on facebook, a product that some one like is not always for you, but a product that they might hate my be for you.. Choose your product.. If it makes you hair hard, and dry... Think about doing another product.. Do not become a Product Junkie.. No so healthy.

3months post relaxer and flat iron. So far, I've tried braid/twist/bantu knot outs but, those didn't come out too nice and I wore my crochet bonnet for a while. I'm going to stick with box braids for now and recently did them last weekend. My plan is to keep them in for 2 months then DC, maybe attempt a braid out for a week then put in more braids or senegalese twists and just let it grow.

I am 18 months post, 6 months to go!
I have and is enjoying my journey, but I think it getting to the point where I am ready to be natural. I won't give in as of yet as I had already purpose to go 24 months before I BC. I am in braids now that will last me until early Dec (around 20-21 months post) and then I will take them down and do about two weeks of treatments. Then get some Senegalese twist and that should take me to the end of the game or close enough

I'm 10 months post right now. I think I'll be transitioning for a couple of years more. The worse was at the beginning when I didn't know what to do with my hair but now since I've just been keeping it in buns and braids it's been quite easy. I can see myself just growing it out for a couple of more years and just trim it little by little.
