Default Confused about curl pattern

How long before I can see my curl pattern?

I've been transitioning form relaxed hair for about 2-3 months and my new growth is driving me crazy. It some places I have really small spirals and in other places really small waves. My hair has changed so much in these past months. I realized that I have edges and my hair requires being wash every 2 to 3 days instead of once a week. My new growth acts like its weighed down. It doesn't stand up It kind of lays down.
why is my hair so different from everyone else in my family. my mom's hair is wavy and never gets super dry. while my littler sister hair is straight with two or three large curls in the back and is always dry. everyone in my family as thick wavy or straight hair
Also is it possible to wash my hair too much.

You won't be able to determine your curl pattern until the chemically altered hair has grown out or been trimmed off. Instead focus now while you're transitioning, about the moisture of your hair and protective styling.

Search youtube for other people transitioning, that helped me a bit.

I think you need to give it some more time. I'm almost 17 months post and I'm still not 100% positive about my texture. I think that I'm a 4a/3c mix but I could also be all 4a. . .

yeah im 10 months post and i think im a 3c 4a but u shud really do maybe a long term protective style, since i'm going to 7th grade protective styles is the best thing for me right now, i'm planning on doing twists next week if not i will do braid out puffs but since i go without flat ironing for long periods at a time it helps me retain length, i haven't flat ironed in 3 months, and since then my hair has grown lots ! my i actually think my hair is 3b-3c-4a but i wont be able to tell until i big chop, i would try flat iron "benging" it helps lots, i've retained so much length since then, when i did my first transition, i cut my hair bob style and it was a little above my shoulders, i always flat ironed, and it grew maybe an inch i got it cut in july and i got it cut again in november, this time i didnt flat iron as often and its grown 4 inches so i recommend flat iron benging

Sounds like me. I thought I knew what my curl pattern was 3c/4a, but after transitioning a while, I'm not 100% sure. Slowly gravitating towards no longer caring.

I do know for a fact that I'm enjoying whatever the curl pattern is. It's cute. Just enjoy the ride til' you chop off the rest of those ends
