I've used grapeseed oil on my hair to flatiron it, my hair didn't fry, it was silky smooth. Btw any oil that has a high heat tolerance is a good heat protectant. You can google organic oils that are heat protectants, there's many out there.
Also Beautiful Textures Curly to Straight Silkener oil is a good heat protectant. I did a product review on it this morning, check product reviews on the forum.
