To help me get through my transition, I have mastered the two strand twist. Now, im wanting to do something different, or have another go-to style. I cant sleep in rollers and im transitioning through a short hair cut.

Im about to be 7 months on Sunday. I understand what your talking about. I was feeling that way about French braids. I get soooo tired of doing them. You should try Bantu Knots. Or you can do box braids. Bantu Knots are my 3rd go to style (#1 box braids and #2 French braids). When I really get tired of my hair I just box braid it. That way I don't have to deal with combing it.

Thanks! I put in yarn braids and now I'm thinking of keeping them in for a few months. I'll try the box braids as well!

Yes girl. Cuz it can get really boring to the point where you want to cut your hair because you get so tired of trying to blend the 2 textures.

I have my hair in French braids right now. Tomorrow I'm going to get a curly weave (brazilian curl) just to try something different!

I know exactly how you feel. I am 7 months into my transition and I have the bantu-knot outs down, but I get tired of doing them because it does take a while. But the style lasts for 7 days for me. But I am kind of ready to try something a little different so I can rotate them and have different looks.

BTW your style in your pic looks great.

I use oyin handmade whipped pudding, burnt sugar pomade and ic gel to style. I do about 25 knots to give me a curly fro look. I use a satin cap at night to sleep and I moisturize with coconut oil and whipped pudding each night. By the last few days I have a puff. But I have defined curls the whole week. If I sleep to much on one side which is usually my right side, I will pin the curls back.

Not sure if you are a fan of youtube, but please check out MahagonyKnots. That woman knows her stuff when it comes to being creative with hair. She shows hairstyles from when her hair was very short.

But surfing youtube is a great place if you are into it and/ or able.

I understand where you are coming from, twists, mohawks, and buns get old fast. Right now, I am working with longer hair and am practicing a different style, micros with my own hair(if you want to see pics its posted in the forum under something new for the transitioner). Honestly, you do NOT have to have long hair to make it work either.

But good luck on your search. Again, try looking at mahoganyknots on YouTube.

I haven't heard of Mahoganyknots but I will be looking her up too on youtube. I am always on there watching videos and getting ideas on how to care for my hair. I have been trying to care for it as if it were already natural and I think that is what has helped me through my transition so far. Now I just have to be patient and wait on growth.

Oh ok. I have to start using gel on mine. After I wash, I do about 20-25 knots with leave-in, coconut and vitamin e oil. Thanks for the tip, I will do the gel next go around.
