Unhappy Obsessed

So i can't stop trying to guess what my hair type is.. i've been transitioning for a while ,, and i've been doing mini chops all around me head in the nape area its a really loose curl on the sides its little sprigs and my crown seems really heat damaged.. and now i fear i'm going to look really crazy whenever i BC with all that going on my head.. but whatever i just needed to vent. If anyone has any advice for me plz say something cuz i'm going crazy!

The best advice I can give you, is please stop trying to guess your hair type

I have been transitioning for 18 months and I still don't know my hair "type". I have about three different textures in my head, but who knows if it's 3b or 3c.

At the end if the day. It's all bout paying attention to your hair needs and adjusting accordingly. I hope this helps!!

I have to agree with CurlyFocused.

Toward the end of my transition, I had about 8 inches of natural hair and about 4 inches of relaxed ends. Even though I was mostly natural, the relaxed hair still had enough weight to distort my curl pattern. When you finally chop, you will find (as most people do) that you have more than one curl pattern on your head. You will be surprised at how well these various patterns blend.

So yeah, don't stress it. You'll just have to wait and see what you're working with when you finally chop.

I have to agree with the 2 above. 1. you won't be able to find out until you BC and 2. there's a possibility that your curl type might change.

I know it's cool to find out your curl type because you're transitioning and it's all fun and stuff but you'll drive yourself crazy trying to figure it out.

My hair is mostly 3b, but parts look 3a, and underneath it looks 3c...who knows what the future holds, but at least I know it's a 3.

Oh you're not alone at all. When I have braids in my hair, I take out 1 or 2 braids, wet my hair just to see the growth and to look at my pretty curls. I used to drive myself crazy thinking that my hair wasn't growing when in fact it's just my curl pattern. I stopped obsessing because after I BC my hair might change. We all at one point obsess over our curls!
