Biotin's good, it'll help your hair grow faster and be healthy (it also helps your skin and nails too). However, I must warn you, Biotin pills can make you break out. That doesn't happen for everyone, but it cause me to break out a little on my forehead and I know it's done that for one or two other people. Everyone else that I know that take Biotin pills say they don't break out so...good luck!

Oh! and if you do break out, stop taking the pills till the zits or whatever are gone then continue taking them. If you don't break out, keep on taking it and like I said before, all the best an good luck on your transition.
Things I use: Olive Oil, Canola oil, rosemary oil, aloe vera gel, shea butter, mayonnaise, eggs, milk, bananas

Everything I use is 100% natural. I make most of them myself because then I'm sure what's in it and I'm sure nothing's added, it's pure, it's natural.

Things I avoid: Mineral oil (codename: Baby oil), heat (I'm a total, no hair driers, no straighteners, no curling irons, no flat irons, no hot combs...nada), sodium chloride

Growing plan: At least 6 inches longer in a year.

The pills work fine for me. I've never heard about breaking out from them though. I didn't break out and haven't yet. My old hair dresser told me about them, because she knew of my family history with thinning hair. Besides, I've never been the person to have acne problems, or skin problems. They suggest that you take up to.five times a day. I only take them twice no more than three. I bought mine from Walmart, the low dose kind. Those pills are smaller.

Mine was also a 5 a day thingy, but I always took only 2-4 a day. It was kinda weird when I broke out. It reminded me of the first day I saw a zit on my face. I totally freaked out lol. I don't like zits and I usually never have them so... oh well...biotin works

Ok so biotin does work... And @induetime what brand is your because the last ones I seen those pills were huge. @sammy I break out easily but its only when I touch something irritant or something. So I think im good.

I bought mine from Walmart and they look like this...
I think they were about $6. They do have the bigger pills though, they are 5000 mcg.

lmfao!!!! you took a picture. I would have done that same thing but I seen those at walmart they looked way huge though.
Wow, you think those pills are big? Lol. Those are small.

How many pills are in that bottle?
I don't think those'll be that large. Maybe as tiny as mine were because ours are both like a 5 a day thing.

@Jasminesbby I know that many people crush their Biotin pills and mix it up in their deep conditioners. I don't believe Biotin can actually do what it's supposed to do that way, but you can try it out. Or, if you want, instead of like downing a whole pill, you can crush it up and like pour it into a glass of OJ and drink it or something (it's quite tasteless), I don't know. If you're really keen on taking it, but you hate swallowing pills, you can try the OJ thing. Oooor, you could just chew the pill and then drink some water or something, but I'm guessing you won't like to do that.

@induetime haha, if you seen my attempts at swallowing any type of pill, you would know what im talking about lol... lol i dk if i am scared of the actual thought of swallowing it or i think about it too much, but either way i can't swallow the baby pills....sad i know.

@sammy haha i have tried the chewing,oj and all that but imma try and suck it up because my mom told me to take those to make my hair grow faster, so i will take a risk and do the oj thing.
@Jasminesbby at least you'll be able to take it that way

I would ask the pharmacist to make sure you can chew them. Some pills are not ment to be dissolved before they enter your stomach. Maybe you could if they.have a liquid form somewhere.
Good luck!

I can attest to the biotin pills working miracles. I've taken them for about two years now. Just a few things. Never take more than 5mg or 5000mcg a day. It's best to take a higher end brand of biotin. The lower priced biotin from let's say Walmart or target have low quality fillers which is what causes people to breakout. I use the GNC be beautiful which has 3mg or 3000mcg biotin and they made my nails grow thick and strong. The most beat part was the my hair grew but I also had an increase in sebum production. My eyelashes also grew long but that was after a year of use. I highly recommend this stuff
@Nikki3b, your are right about Biotin making your nails grow as well. This might be TMI, but I find myself having to cut my toe nails frequently. Lol!

I've been off Biotin for a while now (my dad said I should stop taking them and well...it's not because of them being bad or anything, it's just that he's mad at me because I'm anaemic, I have an ED and well...he's been mad at me since I went vegetarian (it's almost been 5 years now *sigh*). I've been off Biotin for almost 2 months now, but I can say that when I was still taking them, my finger nails grew faster and were stronger, yeah, my hair grew too and like I know someone who got 6 inches of new growth in a few months from taking Biotin pills.
I might get back to taking them some time, who knows, but the key thing is to keeping my hair healthy and happy and I have to tell you, even though you're taking Biotin, you still have to give your hair a lot of TLC, care for your hair, keep it healthy and if you're as random as me, name your hair lol (I named my hair not too long ago lol).

As far as I know ( I'm a nurse) biotin is only a vitamin. Vitamin H I think or one of those and it's water soluble, do it doesn't stay in your system that long at all. I take mine at night so my body has a chance to really absorb all it can instead of urinating it out. Sorry for the details. But too much of anything isn't good 😊
